Bane looks like crap, like something out of a 90s video game movie.  These "leaked" pictures, combined with the astonishingly bad teaser trailer, are doing a good job of making me not want to see TDKR.

Not a huge fan of the rebooted Batman franchise, but even so, that Bane is kind of disappointing. I mean, Bane is supposed to be an inhumanly huge, scary guy, with bulging veins and lots of tubes sticking out of him. No doubt he'll be better than the really crappy Bane from Batman and Robin, but he still looks too ordinary. I think that's probably why I don't like the newer movies so much. Too much emphasis on gritty realism, and too much of an effort to distance the movies from their comic book origins and the earlier, campier adaptations. These movies are not as much fun to watch.

It looks intresting.
Better then TDK which I found to be a little dispointing (although I am the only one), but they do seem to be bringing the tumbler back and I was hoping they'd come back with something cooler...

Couldn't they get Brock Lesnar to be Bane, I mean he's practically wrestling's Bane.

That mask is pretty goofy looking.  They should've gotten someone a bit larger than Christian Bale to play 'im, too.

the astonishingly bad teaser trailer

Do you remember The Dark Knight teaser?  There was nothing but the logo in it.  If anything this is a huge step up since we actually saw footage.

But since you want a better teaser trailer, enjoy this!:

Onto the pictures of Bane.  I have no opinion of them.  I reserve my judgement until I see the movie.  But if you demand opinion, the mask is as silly looking as the comics.

That's why I love this franchise.  It's doing something different than other franchises and it's trying to be somewhat realistic.  Also, gritty (isn't that another word for realistic anyways?) goes hand in hand with Batman.  Have you read some of these comics?  They ain't pretty.

I'm not gonna judge the movie till I see it, because I know everyone is gonna have crazy hype backlash over every little detail and I don't want that to ruin it for me.

I don't need it to be pretty, but I wouldn't mind it being a little less... ordinary. Bane - a character with great potential to look awesome on the big screen - has become an average-sized guy in a leather coat who looks like he's about to spray for termites.

That said, maybe there will be some really freaky special effects for his pumping up, and maybe he gets a whole lot bigger than we see in these pictures. But as a first look at Bane, I find this kind of disappointing.

Remember all the whining that went on when Nolan announced that Heath Ledger was gonna be the Joker.  I would imagine that they have made Bane very different than he is in the comics.  I have read that Bane does break Batman's back.

One thing though: Tom Hardy can act.  Brock Lesnar cannot.

Give me the Lucha Libre mask any day over that silliness.
