Well the remake is a few weeks away, so let us take the time to reflect upon the original. It's an old ABC made for tv movie where a family moves into an old house and discover the a bunch of goblin/troll/gremlins/fuzzy thingys living in the place and they seem to want that daughter. I haven't seen it (I will though just so I can a proper comparison between the old and new to see which one I found better) so I am assuming that it is sort of what happens.
Anyhow, if you've seen the movie, feel free to give your thoughts on what you thought of it. I got to get an idea of it before I see it and its remake.

I thought it was kinda cheap and not scary. Perhaps a product of it's time.
But the people who like it, really LOVE it though.
I've been meaning to pick this up as it was being offered on demand through Warner Bros. but now I check their website and its gone and the lowest priced one on Amazon is $50
Gee,havn't seen it since...hmmmm...1973! What I DO recall is that for a made for tv movie,it was lotsa fun.
I remember that the f/x were people dressed in troll costumes surronded by big props,so the eyes looked real. Which is pretty effective.
Though it would have been neat to see what Ray Harryhausen could have done with it.
Of course TV couldn't afford him....if they had used animated figures,it would have been more likely sub-par LAND OF THE LOST level.
Of course now it will be CGI.
I saw it when I was a kid back in '73 too. I thought it was pretty wild back then. I have a feeling that it hasn't aged well for me, but who knows? Maybe I'll check Netflix for it.
I really like this movie. I bought the Warner Brothers DVD (its really a DVD-R) awhile ago.
I almost don't want to see the original. I haven't seen it since I was maybe 12 and I loved it and thought it was scary. It's one of those things where I don't want to spoil the memory if it doesn't hold up all these years later.
