Too funny. One thing that I did fine over the years was how a lot of my favorite films would have great box art on VHS but then something lame an uninspired on DVD. This trend seems to have continued on going from DVD to blu-ray as I have a lot of DVD's that had great cover art but they then put something completely pointless & lame for the blu-ray release.
Actually it's not just DVDs and Blu-Rays with uninspired covers, modern era CD covers tend to be that way too. I'd say even modern era movie posters tend towards that trend as well...think it's all in part and parcel with the general disposableness of today's society.
I don't mean to continue derailing the topic, but modern graphic design in general is just ugly and horrible. It's a combination of brainless jerks who are marketing "experts" and corporate dopes who don't know as much as they think they do pushing artists towards bland and ugly uncreative and unstructured designs. Maybe schools just aren't teaching basic compositional skills, but if they are the basics are pushed away by their bosses.
Anyways, pretty funny list. I like number 3:
"A pizza slice can't be inserted into a DVD player."
I have a friend who bought a cheap VHS player just so she could watch her 80's VHS tapes on it. All she uses it for is to watch her 80's movies. She says she likes the nostalgic feeling. I have to agree it really takes you back.
Of course that's the same reason I listen to all my music on wax cylinders.
Funny list. I love Vhs. I have hundreds of recored vhs tapes 20+ years old and they play like their brand new.
Quote3. A pizza slice can't be inserted in to a DVD player.
Best reason ever.
