*Shakes head* I just don't get it. I don't get it. A movie... about killer slugs. Well if Hollywood can use killer slugs, why haven't they did a killer chimpmunk movie (If they have, I must see that)?!
Anyhow, this is a movie based off a book called Slugs as well (which interestingly spawned a sequel called Breeding Grounds apparently) in which... slugs mutated and attack people. I should probably read the book or watch the film at some point. Anyhow, if you've seen it, jump in and talk about it. I must know the public's reaction. Also, if you read the book as well, is it a good adaption? Also, I'm well aware of Andrew's review on it, which is how I first heard about it.

I watched it a few weeks ago and gave it a 3.75/5, so I guess I enjoyed it :teddyr:
Here's my little mini-review of it:
QuoteA bunch of slimy slugs appear in a small town and start eating people. I'm still not exactly sure where they came from. It definitely had its "so bad its good" moments, especially with all the theme music sounding like it was lifted directly from a variety of TV sit-com's or something. And when our main character was trying to convince the powers-that-be of the slug problem, they not only ignored his warnings but went WAY over the top in their mocking of him.
I should add that the hot babe who's undressing in the boat at the beginning of the movie - they could have made that scene a
LOT longer :teddyr:
I got this in a box set and I really liked this film. Yeah it is stupid, but very funny.
I would give it 4/5
I always got a kick out of the alcoholic wife.
That scene with the chopped up slug in the lettuce, then later when they're in the guy's body and he spits the slug up in his wine, made me sick thinking about it well after seeing the movie. Not so much the fakey eyeball exploding.
Loved it since I first saw it on video, and I still love it! Actually liked it more than Pieces....

haven't seen the movie but I've read Slugs and Breeding Ground, and about 10-12 other books by the same author Shaun Hutson. They're proper bottom of the range horror pulp fiction...a lot of the time he recycles exact phrases in different books! I used to read them when I was early teens.
you can pretty much guess what they're like from the covers:
