Title: Wanted Man?
Post by: Psycho Circus on September 03, 2011, 04:01:10 PM
I think the police are looking for me. I was walking round to a friend's house earlier today and I encountered some kids that have given me a lot of verbal abuse over the past few weeks. One of them (who is no more than 6yrs old) told me that I couldn't walk past their house because I had long hair and said that their father would "smash my head in". They threw apples at me, and then I lost my temper and shouted back at them. As I did that, two older guys, maybe a few years younger than me came round the corner and started pushing me around. They knew these kids, the kids exaggerated the events that had just unfolded and I found myself in a very hostile situation. So, I did what I always do when I'm angry.....go apes**t. I hit one guy in the face and attacked the other with my umbrella (it was raining real hard).

The little kids got scared, ran off and told me they were getting the cops. The two older guys started to back off and kept saying "we haven't done anything". Haven't done anything!? WTF!? They grabbed my umbrella and stole it and tried to take a shopping bag off me, but I lashed out again (with my keys in my fist), hit this one guy and broke my damn keyring. They ran off, I walked through the rain soaked and furious. If they did ring the police then they will be round soon (if they haven't been already), I'm known to them. I totally lost it and other people may have seen.

Why can't the world leave me the hell alone??

Sounds like they got what was coming to them.  The cops may not like it, but I'm proud of you   :teddyr:

Two words: buzz cut

Seriously, this sucks. But like Jack said, they got what was coming to them.

Little brats! If anyone deserves to be arrested it's people who harass and assault a guy they don't know. I don't understand why a man can't just walk down a street without being insulted. Circus, I sincerely hope the police won't give you any trouble. You don't deserve it.

I think these punks got what they deserved.

Hopefully, all works out for you in the end.

hi
Since these two guys made physical aggressive contact you in the first place then you acted out of self defence(you are allowed to defend yourself when faced with a physical hostile situation) . the two young children also aggravated the situation by verbally abusing you. If the police do come then try to remain calm and explain that you were outnumbered and they assaulted you first and you felt that they would have continued if you had not taken action, also mention that this has happened before and you was afraid for your personal safety.
good luck mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good job at standing up for yourself, even if something does come out of it you still did what was right at the time. If the police do approach you about it the good thing is it was self defense and that there was one of you and two of them.

And I thought people got over men having long hair by the time the 70s came around? ah but whatever long hair is awesome.

Well, it does sound like self defense but anyway, I guess nothing happened since you're still here posting today.

Y'know I recently read about the concert incident where the singer decided to dump on you... I'm sure you know what I'm referring to.  An older thread I'd overlooked, but, I related uncannily.  I was always that person that was noticed, singled out, ridiculed, humiliated, persecuted.  Now I've learned to lower my head and observe without being observed.   :bluesad:  It's not easy.
I can tell you that sometimes persons can see extremely well.  It threatens others who do not see so well and cannot understand that it is a state of being, not an indictment.  I think, Chris, you see well.  And most people, who see reasonably well, can see that you see them.  This frightens people.  They may lash out.  It is not about you, but about humans and our insecurities.  People are disturbed by uniqueness.  Or insight.

I tried doing that with my Economics teacher back in high school. He singled me out anyway because I was so low profile. He picked on every kid that sits shyly in the corner hopes they won't get spotted. So now I just try to seem as uninteresting and boring as possible. Well except of course on the internet.

Sounds like they were sh.it scared at your totally justified reaction and were just using the police excuse to show they weren't scared.

If nothing has happened by now I doubt it ever will.  And the added bonus is those schlubs will probably never bother you again

A bit of a book is being written here, but w\regards to one-sidedness, I had a similar situation in my senior year in high school (1982).

I beat the hell out of a kid whose mother was a teacher at the rival school I attended each day for vocational classes ( AC-Heating).  W\o getting into it too much, he DID ask for it, and it WAS self-defense.

The principal's office was a trip: I soon found out how one-sided things could get.

Not only was I threatened with arrest\failing of the class, BUT I had to sit there with hands proverbially tied as I was verbally abused by the other kid. This kid hid behind the principal's skirts, and used f-bombs, said stuff about my family, whatever, and the principal verbally slapped and shouted me down whenever I defended myself.

Ah, school rivalries...

The kicker??? When I asked the principal if any kid whose mother wasn't a teacher would be allowed to do this, the S.O.B. said "membership has it's privileges."

You have no idea how that one made me feel...I knew I couldn't mouth off because this guy meant business, and the added anger of being abused on your rival's native soil w\no way to fight back really made my blood boil..

I graduated a few weeks later anyhow, so they lost and I won  :bouncegiggle:

So believe me CC, I know what it feels like to be antagonized and threatened and having the weight of a one-sided wall hit you when you act on your behalf because your back is to the wall.

Good luck, and yes, you did the right thing.
