Well folks... the film has landed... and well there's just nothing to say. It's a sequel where the first film was a movie in this own in film and now some random weirdo wants to do what the film did. Bah, I don't care. The Human Centipede triliogy (Yes sir, movie 3 will be appearing in 2013) has a freaky and disgusting idea that just does not appeal to me in the slightest, but it is one of those movies that'll get people talking.
Since it just got little over a week ago according to my research, does anyone here have any thoughts on it? Was it better than the first, was it worse than the first, does it feel like a third movie would be a good idea; just what did you think?

Oh, here's a random review from I guy I trust on the film:

I honestly feel Tom Six is ballsy as hell for doing these films. Its a huge taboo idea and that is often what makes cinema great. This one is another wonderfully odd concept I'll probably enjoy watching to some degree.
I kinda like the first. Odd approach to take for a sequel: the first didn't happen. Or some such.
I only saw the first cause it popped up on cable for free. May do that with the sequel.
well I won't be watching this because it's been banned (I'm english you see, and in england whenever we see a film we end up immediately copying everything we see in the film - thank god for the censors otherwise I'd be in jail for life already). watching that trailer though, it looks pretty badly acted and scripted tbh
I bought the first one. I'll probably buy this one, too . . .
I'm hoping to miss this one.
I get the impression that where Dr. Heiter was neat and professional and knew what he was doing, Sixx is now showing a hack job by a brutal slob with no surgical training. I'm curious about this one, but not really enough to see it. I think it's going to lose some of what actually made the first one enjoyable for me. And I've said before that I don't like sequels in which the first movie is just a movie. Return of the Living Dead is probably the only time that gimmick has worked for me.
This looks like just more "gross out" horror. It seems pretty unpleasant.
Not my genre or interest. I took a gander at #1 after AndyC (I think) have it a reasonably positive review, but it was still sh(l)ock exploitation which is not my cup of bodily fluids. I have a morbid interest in the series but not to actually WATCH it.

Post script 15 minutes later- After reading a detailed summary: no, not even remotely interested.
Please! That movie doesn't have "sequel" written anywhere on it. Yes, it was a horrific idea, but that was it - an idea. The whole movie just hang from that one nail. If it's just someone imitating the actions in the first movie I'd probably be better off watching any one of the Saw movies.
I really don't need to see this...ugh.
The whole concept is just kinda revolting.

Right with you on that one brother.
Have the first one on the NetFlix queue. Heard it was good. Seems gross, but a different kind of terror movie. The trailer on this one makes it look a grasp to ride the coat tails of the first one. It seems to push the boundries of gross and disturbing.
Will think about watching this one after I watch the first.
Later,
John
I was honestly bored by the first one, but I might still check out the second.
I thought that the first film was a truly disturbing, revolting & original premise that was completely undermined as a film by hamfisted & botched execution. I have no interest in the sequel as a result of that.
In the beginning: Hello to everyone! I hope that I'll stay here for some time :)
The first part was great. Apart from quite unique idea it was well directed, well acted and really disturbing.
I was afraid when I've heard of sequel but after the trailer I feel calmer. I was expecting:
a) Doctordude raising from the dead (despite the headshot),
b) Doc's relative taking over the business.
It's nice that they made the plot more realistic (in the place that I live in I wouldn't be shocked if some creepy nerd started doing some gross stuff 'cause of a disturbing flick). The choice of main character is perfect. This guy looks like a complete perv that lives in his parents' basement spending time between porn and pizza.
Also if this movie is really going to be in b&w, it is getting even better since atmosphere of the trailer is quite heavy.
So as for now I wouldn't be worried about this sequel, at least based on what I've seen so far. Actually I would become nervous if they announced the third part of Human Centipede (probably in 3D) ;)

I'm sure there's been some mention of a third installment. Don't know where it can go from twelve people sewn together that won't simply add more people. Maybe join the back to the front for continuous recycling and call it Human Centipede 3: Full Circle. :teddyr:
Six promises Human Centipede 3 will make 2 look "like a Disney film" (http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=31758)
At least he doesn't have an illusions about what he's doing. He's not trying to make a good movie, or a scary one, just a gross one. He understands where his bread is buttered.

Oh rev, plase no food sayings here, I beg you.

That's pretty ambitious. If 3 makes 2 look like a Disney film, and 2 makes the original look like My Little Pony (his previous promise), that would be an exponential increase in offensiveness. :teddyr:
Damn! I could keep quiet ;)
I am really curious how gross the second one is going to be then. I appreciate the ambitions and stuff but at some point it is certain that he will reach that point when making third part look like a 'Barney the dinosaur' would be to create a snuff picture or coming up with the ideas at all cost. I wouldn't like to see posters of 'Human Centipede VII - the shht is getting really disgusting just here'.
I suppose he could top himself by getting animals involved. Sew somebody's mouth to the rear end of a cow or something. Then there could be a Scanners-style head explosion, only with poo. :bouncegiggle:
I will admit, only having seen the first movie, that the sequel might make it look like Mr. Rogers' Neighbourhood, what with the tidy, well-dressed but eccentric older gentleman who invites you into his lovely home.
Really, it was only the performance of Dieter Laser that raised The Human Centipede above its subject matter in my opinion. That, and its relative subtlety, with nearly all the grossness left to your imagination. I have my doubts about the sequel, and will probably not see it unless I can read an unbiased review that tells me it isn't just rehashing the same premise with all the blood and s**t and brutality that was left out of the original. That would ruin everything I thought made it good.
I don't see anything ballsy about making these films. If you want to gross people out for the sake of grossing people out it's not very hard and doesn't take much talent or imagination. If you want to make something with a bit of artistry and entertainment and gross people out in the process then that's a whole different thing and can be admirable. Granted I haven't seen either of these films but everything I've read about them makes them just seem revolting and stupid.
Happened to run across a plot summary. Here's an excerpt that pretty much told me everything I needed to know.
QuoteOnce Martin has his victims, he severs the tendons in each person's legs (graphically and on screen) to prevent them from fleeing. He uses a hammer to knock out their teeth one by one, putting his fingers in their blood-filled mouths to fish out their teeth so they will not swallow and choke on them in a suicide attempt. He slices open the buttocks of eleven of the victims (graphically depicted on screen), and then—lacking any surgical equipment—uses a staple gun to attach each person's face to the next person's anus. Martin chooses Yennie to be the front of the "human centipede", so she does not have to eat anyone else's feces. When one of his victims dies from their wounds, Martin sobs softly.
Martin, who is clad only in his underwear throughout much of the latter portion of the film, becomes more and more sexually aroused by the desperation and travails of his "human centipede." He administers an excessive amount of laxative to his creation (after a previous attempt to recreate the defecation scene from the 1st film fails), forcing each individual in the chain to explosively evacuate their bowels into the mouth of the person behind them. When one of his victims chokes to death on their own vomit, Martin again breaks down in tears.
And it manages to get even more disturbing.
So, that satisfies my curiosity. Not interested in seeing any of that.

That's pretty much what I did for the first movie. Read the summary. Now that I know, I have no interest in seeing it. Good enough for me.
Maybe it's me... the trailer for the first movie looked dull so I didnt waste my time to watch it... and the trailer for the second movie looks duller then the first... Actually the trailer looks like a B&W SAW... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
If they want to make a movie about forced ATM why not force feed them crap... keep 6 people chained in a cell and in the center is a bowl of poop... tell them the first one to eat the poop can leave the cell. [there you got the gross and the logical] Although this would be a 20 minute movie... :)
Wow, that has to be one of the most gross things I've read in a while. No desire to see it, no intention to see it, no curiosity, nada.
Although, I love AndyC's idea about the Scanners style head explosion with cowpoo! Would be great for one of those sendup type movies!
My brother and a friend of his saw The Human Centipede 2 and said a lot of people were dry heaving because of the gore. If part three makes part two look like something from Disney, WOW. It will probably be nonstop blood and body parts from beginning to end. :buggedout: :buggedout: :buggedout:

The Human Centipede films are great. I have seen both. In the beginning I would not watch the first, but after I got over my skepticism I knew I wanted to watch the second. The reason these films work is because the director knows what he is doing. Both movies are highlighted by the excellent acting of the main antagonists. In the second film we are brought into the twisted mind of Martin. His life has been hell. He has some undisclosed form of retardation. He was raped regularly by his father as a child. His mother blames Martin for his father being in jail and his psychiatrist has an unusual infatuation with him. Is it any wonder that he looks up to Dr. Heiter who hated all people? Things reach a liberating breaking point as Martin begins to take revenge for all the years of mental and physical abuse he suffered. Afterwards it is time for Martin to complete his ultimate fantasy based on the film he practically worships. Martin is a primitive character fueled by emotion. That is how this story is driven. We never hear him talk, but his physical acting and shot compositions are so amazing that we fully understand what this character is thinking and feeling at every turn. If you are somebody who can not tolerate the most disgusting imagery ever put into film then I would avoid this if I were you. For those of you, like myself, who are willing to sit through hell for greatness then I fully recommend this film.
I haven't seen the first or the sequel. I'm kinda on the fence with this one. On one hand I usually enjoy seriously disturbing f**ked up movies, but they have to be handled well. I've seen all the August Underground films which, while watching them you tend to become desensitised to all the crazy s**t going on. I did enjoy 'Penance' moreso than the others because it seemed a little more fleshed out character wise. A Serbian Film truly got to me because it was just so well made that the disturbing stuff seemed that much sicker. But to be honest, the whole concept of the Human Centipede just seems kinda pointless. Again, I haven't actually seen them, but given the chance I might give them a watch.
I'd only heard of the first film after South Park did an episode about iTunes and the iPad, which mocked the "Agreement Contract" that they give you, saying that if you AGREE to their contract, you are now a part of the Human Centipede. Then, I saw that the movie was available for free on my cable system. I watched.
I liked it for what it was.
I'll only watch the second if it pops up for free. They wanted $9.99 for it, but I won't pay the additional fee.
I've actually seen both of the Human Centipede movies. I was surprised by the first one in that I liked it pretty well. The main antagonist is played incredibly well and there wasn't a ton of unnecessary female screaming (which gets on my nerves) I don't know about anyone else though. After watching the first I was very curious to see how the second one was and I was not disappointed. Although, I have a TREMENDOUS fear of centipedes so I was psychologically scarred for life at the end of the second movie. (just sayin') All in all both movies are worth a look.
