This dish is for entertainment purposes only. Please, no one eat this. I want all of you to be around for a long time!
Don't worry. I won't. I may fantasize about it though.
I'm getting heartburn just from looking at it
My stars and garters! What a piece of meat! :buggedout: :teddyr:
I think it looks fantastic. If I made it myself, I'd probably replace the BBQ sauce with something else.
I can't really picture eating more than one slice of the thing at any sitting. I love bacon, but after the third slice or so I tend to get baconed out.

Not me. I could eat 3 slices and then some. I WISH I had your problem. In my case I have to exercise self-control. Which I do, but boy I love me some bacon.
Holy Beezelbubba! :buggedout:
Hmmm....Slice it...put it on a Kaiser roll with lettuce and tomato...some mayo and horseradish...I could eat that!
LOOK!!! An angel, and she's giving out free bacon! :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle:
It may be tasty, but it doesnt look very appetizing.
Like Kong ate a herd of pigs and took a dump.
(Herd of pigs? I live in pig country...seems I would know this...)
that looks glorious, however there is no way I could eat that in one sitting.....maybe 20 or so?

Yeah, if you eat too much of that, you'll be meeting an angel, all right. :tongueout:
Looks tasty, but that would definitely add a few more inches to my waistline (and that would just be the cholesterol inside my arteries).

Our friend Ghouck likes his bacon raw, or so I believe.
Was this photo taken before you ate it . . . or after? :buggedout:
My heart hurts just looking at that thing...
They should have an eating competition using this dish. Get those dudes who always take part in the Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest every July 4th and see if they can keep one of THESE down.

I cooked it yesterday. Actually, a pretty simple recipe, although it takes time to prepare.
Obviously it would be a bit insane to eat an entire one of these in one sitting (two pounds of bacon, two pounds of sausage). The way it ended up being served at Thanksgiving was in slices, often cutting up those slices for finger sized portions and then serving as an appetizer. With the barbecue sauce, it really reminded me off those little cocktail weenies you see served with toothpicks.
There were only five adults and two children at that dinner, so I still have a lot left. No problem, reheat and eat with a biscuit.
If you like sausage and bacon, it's worth trying out. I would recommend you leave out the barbecue sauce, unless you really like it. I don't think the dish needs it. However, there are easier ways to cook sausage and bacon. While this dish is quite dramatic in presentation, it isn't that much different in flavor from just smoked bacon and sausage.
Bon appetit!
My mouth started to water when I looked at that picture. I'm a bit of a carnivore.

Thats cruel! But yeah...I'd like to see that too. Hosted by Alton Brown and Guy Fieari.
