Here it is, the infamous Euro-western . . . with gore!
When their wagon is ambushed and destroyed, a cavalry sergeant and his attractive daughter must escort 7 prisoners from a chain gang down a snow-covered mountain. This sets the stage for dismemberments, burnings, shootings, stabbings, and eviscerations. Certainly not the best western you will ever see, but it's a decent one and the occasional gore scenes make it somewhat unique. I bought a nice copy from twistedanger.com.

Yeah, as a western it's not bad, but I think the level of gore has often been overstated by many people when discussing this film. It's a violent movie for sure, but it's no Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Very true . . . but for a western, the gore is surprising. If this was a horror movie, it would be pretty tame.
Saw this one a few years back, during my Spaghetti Western phase. I think it starts out quite promisingly, even if the violence is way too mean, but it the end it starts looking way too much like a "Friday the 13th" film. Not among my favourite SWs, but it's so weird it's worth checking out.
I rented this many moons ago on vhs...unfortunatly-like lotsa Euro films at the time-the US print was butchered beyond belief.
