We had the best news yesterday: the Film Archives is moving back to our previous building that we had to vacate about three years ago as the place needed a massive renovation. That's now done and we have to be back in there by the end of March 2012. :teddyr: :teddyr: :teddyr: :teddyr:
Just a pity that our two friends Amatottie and Amateetie (the rock hyraxes we had in the garden) are no longer there to welcome us every morning. :bluesad:
I should just add that it will be a lot of work to pack and move back but it will be a lot of fun too. :teddyr:

Oh, my addition: It's midwinter, and I still get to wear shorts today. And eat a breakfast taco.
I finally officially got my money back from the MST3K Red Zone Cuba that never came today

I went to the Popcorn Park Zoo here in New Jersey Wednesday. I despise zoos, but, all of the animals in this "zoo" are rescue animals so it's really a sanctuary. I saw two lions, a male and a female. The male was roaring, and when he roared, the ground nearly shook! When I spoke to the female she trotted over to the fence enclosing her and rubbed against it (sweet kitty!) I also saw two tigers (beautiful) a huge female camel, two lamas, black bears, several strange pygmy deer, potbelly pigs (I'd seen one many years ago that was a pet, but they get quite large and UGLY)... many exotic and large birds... a peacock ate popcorn out of my hand! Alligators, a huge fat iguana, four pumas, ostriches and rheas (also damned ugly, I'm afraid of those things) pythons, and many other interesting and strange animals. I have never seen lions before (since I have avoided zoos my whole life). I was so glad that these animals had found a home and proper care that it restored my faith in humankind. We are capable of kindness and compassion. Of course, the facility has many cats, dogs, and exotic birds waiting to be adopted (it's always tough to walk through a shelter and not adopt at least one of them - I have a dog and a cat, so it wasn't possible - yet!)
