Any other Simpsons geeks out there besides me?
Anyone who knows me, knows that my other geeky passions aside from movies are rock N roll and "The Simpsons." So I took it upon myself to compile this list of my favorite moments when those two worlds have collided.

I have to check out the list when I get online. I'm sure you did a good list.
Not sure what you've compiled, but I loved the two appearances by Weird Al, as well as the appearances by Spinal Tap and White Stripes.
Also, when Homer was on Lollapalooza.
Cool list, especially love the top 3! I would've switched out Green Day with the Sting episode, but that's mostly just due to my hate for Green Day.

What, you didn't like the fact when the band drowned in that polluted lake? What kind of hater are you?

Sting's appearance was in an earlier draft of the list, but I cut it (as well as several others) to boil it down to 10 favorites. I may do a Part II somewhere down the line with the ones that I left out.
...and for the record, I don't have much use for Green Day either, but you gotta admit, they must have a pretty good sense of humor to let themselves be "killed" onscreen like that. :teddyr:

I suppose, if I gotta I gotta....
OOC, where would you have ranked the "Strummer Vacation" episode? It was kind of uneven but Keith Richards was pretty great, as I recall.

To be honest, I'd have to re-watch the "Strummer" episode again before I could say, because I haven't seen it in ages.
As long as they included the Spinal Tap episode, which they did. All is right with the world.
I liked the Who and Smashing Punpkins appearances...
Great list. But I'd have to second the notion with the rock and roll fantasy camp episode. It was quite funny. On an unrelated note, I first saw this episode when I was in the psych ward. Good times!

The Smashing Pumpkins episode had one of my favorite Homer moments ever.
Billy Corgan: "Hi, Homer. Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
Homer: "Hi, Billy. Homer Simpson, smiling politely."
I followed up my "Rock N Roll" Simpsons article with this Top 20 list of "background" characters, i.e. those who aren't immediate members of the Simpson family... Lord knows there are tons to choose from, had a lot of fun with this one. I probably could've made it into a Top 40 or even Top 100!!

I love that you showed love for Mr Sparkle! :teddyr:
It's a near-impossible task to narrow that many characters down, but I think my top 3 would be Skinner, Troy McClure and Sideshow Bob.

How could I not? He's a brave corporate logo! :teddyr:
Seriously, that Mr. Sparkle commercial is quite possibly my all time favorite moment in the entire series. I had to include him.
