He'd been suffering from Crohn's disease pretty badly for years, though still performing. Absolutely gutted about this. One of my all time favourite guitar players and he was so damn underrated! I was ill last year and missed Riot's show at Tiger Tiger in Manchester. He'd kept them going for over 35 years releasing many albums of high quality rock.

That's a shame, he's a great guitar player and I always hate hearing of anyone dying before having a chance to get old.

I just started to get into Riot, too.
