Only seen Drive Angry which is not nominated for worst movie. Nic Cage did his usual (entertaining) over-the-top schtick in that one.
I have no interest in seeing any of the other nominated movies though.
Al Pacino was excellent in Jack and Jill........even if seeing him being a shill for Dunkin Donuts at the very end of it was sad
and Bucky Larson is the worst thing I've ever seen
I'm in the same boat as Claws. The only one I have seen is DRIVE ANGRY.
I only saw Arthur. Pretty bad, but I doubt it's worse than most of the other entries.
I admit I must be crazy, but I actually have a morbid curiosity to see Bucky Larson.
Don't. Just don't. But if you do, be prepared for pain. Poor Christina Ricci deserved so much better than that thing.

just don't....you'll feel unclean watching it if you end up watching it
Jase and bob,
I have no doubt you're right. I had the same morbid temptation with Freddie Got Fingered, and I've managed to avoid watching that, so I trust my will power.
Hey you posted a topic on the Razzies too? Are you trying to steal my thunder?
But seriously, come on Bucky Larson! Time to sweep some well deserve awards for your crappiness.
my predictions
Worst Picture - Bucky Larson
Worst Actor - Nick Swanderson
Worst Actress - Adam Sandler
Worst Supporting Actor -Nick Swanderson
Worst Supporting Actress - David Spade
Worst Screen Ensemble - Bucky Larson
Worst Director - Tom Brady
Worst Prequel, Remake, Ripoff or Sequel - Bucky Larson
Worst Screen Couple - Adam Sandler & Katie Holmes OR Al Pacino OR Adam Sandler/Jack & Jill
Worst Screenplay - Bucky Larson
and seeing as I saw both Bucky Larson and Jack and Jill last year (WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME :bouncegiggle:) I feel very confident in those predictions
I hope the Twilight actors/actress/director/movie wins everything its nominated for. :tongueout:
well as expected Adam Sandler's crap from last year won them all

Pacino was the only good thing about Jack and Jill
and I believe the only reason Bucky didn't win anything was because most critics didn't see it because there wasn't a critics only screening of it

I was meaning to tell you that I had the local release DVD of BUCKY in my hands the other day and I was about to rent it until I heard your voice in my head warning me not to. :teddyr:
Wow. Sandler swept EVERY CATEGORY? That's gotta be a first, right?
Wait.. Sarah Palin playing Sarah Palin? Who puts out the Razzies, the DNC?

I believe so
more thoughts on the awards: I fail to see how Jack and Jill can be considered to be a rip-off or remake of Glen or Glenda

I scratched my head about that myself.
The Razzies are sorta a joke, but Jack and Jill deserved every single one.

Worst Picture
Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star
Jack & Jill
New Year's Eve
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1
And just for completeness, let's take a look at how these faired as 'business property."
All data from Box Office Mojo (http://boxofficemojo.com), and US Domestic data only.
BUCKY LARSON: BORN TO BE A STAR:
Gross Revenue: $2,529,395
Production Budget: $10,000,000
Net Loss: $7,470,605
JACK AND JILL:
Gross Revenue: $74,158,157
Production Budget: $79,000,000
Net Loss: $4,841,843
NEW YEAR'S EVE:
Gross Revenue: $54,544,638
Production Budget: $56,000,000
Net Loss: $1,455,362
TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON:
Gross Revenue: $352,390,543
Production Budget: $195,000,000

TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART 1:
Gross Revenue: $281,287,133
Production Budget: $110,000,000
Profit: $171,287,133
The two profitable movies on this list of "worst" of 2011 made a profit of about $328 MILLION dollars, or about 23 times as much as the three losers lost.
JACK AND JILL, the Razzie winner, was not even the biggest loser. And I'm sure Sandler will gladly accept the razzie as he laughs all the way to the bank.
Sandler Still made his $20,000,000 (http://www.therichest.org/celebnetworth/celeb/actors/adam-sandler-net-worth/) off JACK AND JILL, which is 1/4th of the stupid film's budget and half his 2011 estimated salary.
Sandler ain't the one who lost money on the film, in other words...

Well, yeah, they are a joke, but then, I think that's part of the point.

The sad thing is, though, at least to me, what other field or art even exists where something gets branded "the worst," by fans and "professional" critics alike, and still makes money to the tune of HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of dollars?
Professional team coaches get fired after one lousy season, and the players don't fare much better. Yet still, investors give Adam Sandler, Michael Bay, etc all the money they want. Produce a stinker? So what...it works out in the wash.
TRANSFORMERS is a good example, and TWILIGHT is another. By the time this installment of TWILIGHT came out, everyone KNEW it was going to be beyond lousy. I doubt even the fangals are defending it much anymore. Yet nearly 200 MILLION in domestic profit alone?
I wish I could find a way to have that kind of 'guaranteed income.' But no, if someone even hints that my work is not up to some arbitrary standard, my marketability drops TREMENDOUSLY and I lose clients...sometimes ones I already had. I'm one mistake away from not being able to earn a dime.
It's a little backwards...just sayin...
Another way to ask it...why do these guys continue to get HUGE sums of money to produce crap? Because the fans keep rewarding it, even the movies STINK.
I love Sandler, but him and his production company own EVERY category this year.
