I feel horrible for her. I'm trying to support her, but it breaks my heart to see her so devastated.
s**t, I'm in tears right now.
I just wish I could do more for her. To make it go away.
Honey,I'm so sorry! This is going to be difficult for both of you...be there for one another.
(((HUGS!!!)))
Thank you.
I'm doing everything I can, but it's not enough. Only time will help...but I hate to see her suffer.

You are right. It's not enough. Nothing you can do can stop her pain.
Let her cry. Cry with her. That's about all we have sometimes.
Peace and prayers to you and your friend. I'm glad she has such a friend.

Don't. You're only human; there's only so much you can do. Visit/call when you can; she will appreciate the voice of a good friend.
Very sorry to hear. Keep your chin up.

in high school my friends brother did the same thing....while he didn't say anything you could tell that the bunch of us being there for him helped a lot
Being there for someone is indeed all you may be able to do, but that helps immensely. Let them know they arn't taking this alone. Trust me, it helps.
I'm sorry to hear this. My condolences to you and your friend. It says a lot for your decency that you suffer with her.
Hold her and cry with her. It's all you can do.
Suicide is so freaking selfish!
Hard to know what to say but what you're doing is so important, being there for those left behind.

Luckily you've never been in a position where you felt you might want to take your life. Sometimes it's hard for people to think about the feelings of others when they can't even feel or care for themselves.

Warm hugs and good wishes to both of you in this terrible time. :bluesad:
As so many have said, there is nothing more to do but to be a friend and be there for her. Having someone there to share the pain is an immense gift and not to be underestimated.
Spending time with your friend should help her through this very difficult time. One of my best friends committed suicide when I was about 24 years old. I visited his parents several days every week for months. His father and I would sit at the kitchen table and talk for hours. It seemed to help his dad a lot. It certainly helped me.
Thank you all so much...I really don't know what to say...

It's times like this when you realize just how many good friends - family, actually - you have on this site: we are all here for you.
