I remember when this calf was born last summer - over 1000 Native Americans gathered to welcome it into the world and perform a Sioux naming ceremony. It was a source of great local pride. Now it's dead because of some trigger happy idiot. They shot its mother too. I am torn between being sick with the sadness of it all, and wanting to take a chainsaw to the idiot who did it! :hatred:
Sickening and inexcusable. There are horrible, nasty, selfish people out there. :hatred:
I have seen white buffalo. There seem to be quite a few of them around, which seems odd if they are supposed to occur only once in ten million births. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_buffalo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_buffalo) So perhaps on the spiritual side of things, all is not lost?
The "one in ten million" is an obvious exaggeration, but the beast was still important to them . . .
:bluesad:
the hell, man!

What was your damn purpose, to p**s off people? :hatred:

I remember seeing this on Fox News last year: the farmer Arby Little Soldier really pulled out all the stops for the calf that day and to have it all end like this is way beyond sad.
Some people simply have no respect or feelings. :bluesad:
Indeed. Totally, totally selfish.
Dang. Human beings really suck. :(
Last weekend Arby Little Soldier, the rancher who owned White Medicine Cloud, went ahead and hosted the pow-wow that was originally intended to celebrate the white buffalo's first birthday. They went ahead with the celebration the first day, and a memorial the second. But at the end, Little Soldier shared a great announcement: a Native American rancher in Wyoming is sending his own white buffalo bull, a seven year old, to Little Soldier's ranch for an extended visit. Arby told the crowd of 1200 Native Americans: "He is coming here to make babies!"
I hope they have white buffalo twins!
If they catch the jerk, can we turn him over to the Amerindians?
