Rodney King, whose videotaped beating by police in 1991 sparked the L.A. riots, was found dead at his California home on Sunday. He was 47.
Police said King's fiancée discovered him at the bottom of the swimming pool at their Rialto, Calif., home, about 55 miles east of Los Angeles.
Police responded to a call at 5:25 a.m., pulled King out of the pool and attempted CPR, but could not revive him...

RIP Mr. King, your troubled ordeal with the police inspired one of my fav songs of all time- Sublime's April 29,1992
I always had mixed emotions about that case and all the catastrophe that followed, but at the same time, he seemed to try very hard to get his life straightened out and do better after the beating, trial, and riots. I hope he is at peace.
And let's take his famous question to heart -
"Can't we all jut get along?"
I remember that very well. I was appalled at what he went through but even more at the public response.
I lived in Trenton NJ at that time... (bad section) Trenton high was closed down for weeks.
Then later - reinforced with about 30 police officers and attack dogs... I'll forget that picture. Sad.
You couldn't even go to the local mall at that time.
I had no idea he was still alive.
