I love some rocky road.
I just picked up a half gallon of Blue Bell Butter Pecan. I normally get their super-delicious Homemade Vanilla but this look good.
Blue Bell (http://www.bluebell.com/?showsplash=0) is the best commecial ice cream I've ever experienced (George W. Bush used to have it shipped to Camp David) but at almost eight bucks for a half gallon I only indulge when it's on sale.
It's on sale.
Ah yes. Ice cream. The boardwalk is full of it. My favorites are...
Caravel's Chocolate shake.
Kohr Bros's vanilla ice cream with jimmies.
Stewart's root beer float.
Not ice cream but still - cotton candy Polish ice. It's GOOD.
Well, If you're in the New Orleans area, there's only two places to get Ice Cream:
-Creole Creamery-http://www.creolecreamery.com/ (http://www.creolecreamery.com/) and
-Brocato's-http://www.angelobrocatoicecream.com/ (http://www.angelobrocatoicecream.com/)
Creole has a variety of flavors. Back in March, they had the "Ain't der no more" specials: Petit four, McKenzie's Butter Milk Drop, Doberge Cake, Creme Brulee, Lemon Icebox Pie, and another flavor that slipped my mind.
Brocato's has many gelato ice cream, but has one of the best ice cream mixes-

Spumoni!
I loved it when the family made the home made stuff. I have a craving for the salty ice packed around the tub right this very minute.
I actually like licorice ice cream.

When we were kids we went to my Grandma's where she always had Coffee ice cream!

I actually prefer sherbert to ice cream.
Though, I do have some ice creams I prefer. Cookies and cream, Butter Pecan, Vanilla Bean from Braums (very pronounced vanilla flavor), and some of the cheesecake flavors (cherry cheesecake for instance).
I'm more of a Popsicle or Italian ice guy. However, I do enjoy a cookies n cream Blizzard from DQ. Either that or plain vanilla slightly melted at home in a bowl. I really can't stand ice cream cones. The smell actually nauseates me.

The home of the best ice cream in the world, when I was a kid....I'd bust myself in the mouth for a heaping bowl of their Chocolate Marshmallow.
