I've watched a few TARZAN movies this afternoon and realized he's may be the most liberal character ever brought to screen.
He's a tree hugging, gun hating, vegetable eating, environmentalist hippie.
Can you think of others that are similar? :teddyr:
Grizzly Adams... And considering Dan Haggerty became a drug dealer & turned out to be a homophobe (see http://www.badmovies.org/movies/pinkangels/ ), it also makes this tree hugger the perfect example of a left wing hypocrite!
Jane was often played by Maureen O'Sullivan whose daughter is Mia Farrow.
TARZAN TRIUMPHS really tickled my funny bone. In it "Tarzan make war" against the Nazis, and near the end we have Cheeta machine gunning down a few and even boy kills one with a pistol. :buggedout:
The final scene has Cheeta on the radio with Berlin and the Nazis think he's Hitler.

The last 3rd to TARZAN'S DESERT MYSTERY was great too.
Lot'sa dinosaurs (outtakes from ONE MILLION BC) a giant spider, killer plants and more Nazis.
that's the silliest thing I've ever seen haha
They finished off the day with a couple of Weissmuller's 'Jungle Jim' flicks.
I love his Tarzan movies but I find those pretty rough going. There's one with a couple of hairy ape people which is OK, but I don't remember which one it is. :teddyr:

I thought PYGMY ISLAND, with the little people from THE WIZARD OF OZ, wearing Beatles wigs, was pretty awesome.
So is this poster.
