Late 60s or early 70s sci fi film, B production values or better.
Some kind of future dystopia, I think people are dressed up kind of like THX-1138 style uniforms.
A woman is on the run outside in a lightly wooded area and maybe there is a man with her,
and in the distance they can hear the sound of a ray gun firing (hi pitched buzzing sound) and they are filled with dread.
It must be the bad guys trying to capture them.
I only saw fragments of this film - thanks if anyone can help me identify it.

Sounds a bit like Logan's Run (1976) too. I haven't seen Z.P.G. in years so I can't remember if it fully fits your description or not. I know it's a dystopia type future in the movie and I seem to have vague memories of a couple on the run...
