He was Waaay ahead of his time-a genuis if you will-or wont.
If you will-how much money do I get? Even if you wont-I could use the money. :drink:
Oh, Groucho was a hoot and a half alright. The guy was way ahead of his time. In fact, he'd still stand out today if he were around. It's amazing some of the stuff he got away with for the time.
Huge Marx Brothers fan here and Groucho has always been my favorite. He had a sharp, clever wit that could sail zingers right over a person's head....he was a genius indeed.

The Marx Brothers are my all-time favorite comedy team. I think they were funnier than the 3 Stooges, Laurel & Hardy, Abbott & Costello, and all the rest.
Every Groucho fan should check out this book. It's fantastic. It's full of interesting stories and insights.

Say....now I know what to ask for for Christmas.
I'm hoping that when I die, God turns out to be either Groucho Marx, Daffy Duck or The Great Gonzo. Donald Duck as the Son, Woody Woodpecker as the Holy Ghost.

He plays God in his last movie role (SKIDOO).
So maybe that was foreshadowing.

Not too far south of where I live there is a massive and insanely well done Shakespeare Festival (done by a large rotating repertory theater company in Ashland, Oregon). We try to go there yearly to watch plays, and this summer we saw a production of "Animal Crackers." The guy who played Groucho did a great, great job... very funny. Most especially we enjoyed his attempts to crack his castmates up by improvising, it was a worthy tribute to Groucho.
What took so long RC? The Marx Brothers have been one of, if not my favorite comedy team since I was a kid - I credit Groucho as the source of much of my smart ass remarks and to top that of my dog is named Groucho.
Groucho is the best, Chico and Harpo are alright but face it without Groucho they'd be forgotten now.
I love the MARX BROTHERS. GROUCHO is the best (and was a lifelong Democrat ).

For some reason that reminded me of a scene in "Road to Bali" where this elephant wanders by and Bob Hope says," Those Republicans are everywhere!" :teddyr:
The Marx Brothers movies hold a place of honor in my DVD collection. There are many, many classic routines and one-liners in those movies.
