and are actually aliens, then get into their spacecraft and leave!

I have a feeling this is from the mid-late 80s/early 90s

If anyone knows what this is, please help!

It's one of those classic twists that has haunted me forever ..in a really dumb way..

Hmmmm. Aliens removing fake skin reminds me of STRANGE INVADERS.

Did they turn into bird-like things? It maye have been Nightmare Cafe
There was an episode with Midegets who take off their skin and are bird-like aliens who leave in a space ship of some kind.
