Hi all
I have been trying to find a film i watched in the 80s when i was young, and wanted to watch as i can only rember a few fragments and its driving me crazy.
The one thing remember the most was the main character lent (or it was just taken?) out his car to i think it was his neigbour, then later in the film the car comes screeching up and its all jacked up mad max style.
I think the person who jacked the car up might be a black actor but iam not totally sure. And i think the car could possibly have been a black trans am again not sure. The main character keeps sticking in my mind as being tom hanks but i think thats a bum steer and the burbs is just poping into my head.
I think the main story was things kept going wrong for the main character due to the doings of the person who lent/took the car
Thats ill i can remember but i remember it being funny!
Please help me find it!
Sounds kind of like this movie:

Thanks, but its not that one. although that does look like a enjoyable film and never seen that before
The search continues!
Richard Pryor's Moving has much what you describe. The Dana Carvey character steals Pryor's car and turns it into a Mad-Max-mobile, with a big blower sticking out of the hood and everything.
There's a part where Carvey screeches up to Pryor's house to show him what he's done with his car. Pryor has to drive it that way for the rest of the movie.
The main plot is also how things keep going wrong for Pryor.
Well, this is done to the antagonist in "Bachelor Party" with Tom Hanks. His Porsche is turned into a silly souped-up vehicle, but it does not stay in the film long.
Ha ha akiratubo you absolute legend!!!!! Thats it!!
Funny how your brain fills in the blanks what you think you remember isnt quite right!
Awww i cant wait to sit down and watch this fully!! Its been bugging me for 10 years!
Here a clip, and the part i partiallly remembered is at 3 minutes
Wont let me post the clip if you search richard pryor - moving (schizophrenia montage). It wil bring it up
