Amazing shots. In themselves they show nothing particularly lurid, but given the greater context of their setting, they're a poignant record of a tragedy. In color World War Two seems all the more immediate. Though I don't know how many suspected it then, I'm sure almost all of these people were near the end of their lives.

I was thinking as I went through the gallery how some of the photograph looked like they could have been taken recently. It's a little unsettling when you see some of them, and thinking about the horror of the time period.
Most of the people in the photos are smiling....SMILING. :bluesad:
