I drink A LOT of malt liquor. I'm like 200 pounds or something too. I am considering doing this challenge
http://boston.grubstreet.com/2012/12/jm-curley-video-beef.html
drinking a 40, eating 40 ounces of cheeseburger and 40 ounces of fries in 40 minutes. If you lose you have to give 40 dollars to charity.
Should I do it?
You may want to practice first.
Yeah, and call Adam Richman for advice. Really, now he's still alive after he ate...
My bet: They collect a lot of $40 checks.
I don't usually eat fries, that's the part I'm worried about. I could drink a 40 in 5 seconds and if I'm hungry enough I could manage the burger. The fries are the wild card. They are the wild card fries.
You typed six 40s. Is the sixth one the 40 days you spend in the hospital recovering from the heart attack?
It's the 40 minutes of euphoria I'll experience thenl I go back to my depressing life
5 lbs of food, and that's what you're looking at with 80 oz of eating, is a hell of a lot of food to eat in one sitting. My concern would not so much be the cholesterol as what you are doing to your stomach (this is from someone who has had a perforated ulcer and had part of his stomach removed). It's amazing the things we think we're impervious to, only years later to wish we hadn't tried (trying to save a few minutes by carrying more weight than I should have up a flight of stairs was not worth a permanent knee injury).
The prudent course would be to just give them the $40.
If you absolutely must, after throwing up your guts for how ever long it takes, I would recommend following up with a 2 week course of Prilosec just to be on the safe side.
Go for it Lester.
I heard that drinking a lot of water the day before helps stretch out your stomach so you'll have more room. And if possible have someone record the event, and post the highlights for our entertainment.
But that's a crazy amount of food, I know I wouldn't have a chance of putting that down.

Once you're done, give us a hearty "LEEEEERRRRROOOOOOYYYYY Jenkins!!" :drink:
I agree with Menard, there is no way around ingesting five pounds of food. That is non-negligible. The malt liquor won't even be brought into account.
If you're hell-bent on giving money to charity, do it. But you're probably going to spend extra on the presented food.
The important thing is that you may have fun trying the challenge. You'll probably fail, but you had fun trying and the money went to a good cause.
Try slamming the 40 and then watching 40 minutes of Manos: The Hands of Fate.

I got about two-thirds of the way through it once and that seemed to take about 3 hours :bouncegiggle:
I wish it could be 40 pounds of smoked salmon and 40 pounds of mashed potatoes. and OE 800 instead of Colt 45
That sounds like a bit of self-torture to me....like those steak houses that will give you a free 5 lbs steak if you eat it in one sitting. I agree with Menard,too....just give them $40 and get what you know you can eat.
I did a challenge at Applebee's a few years ago. It was a huge burger, a mound of fries, and a large soda. If you ate it in 30 minutes or less it was free. I made it with a couple of minutes to spare. Not many months later I had a heart attack.

That's just the opening driving scene, right?
Burgo- hahaha
good luck. I reckon there's about a 40/1 chance you'll do it

Burgo- hahaha
And that's a true story. However, I'm sure the heart attack was caused by many years of eating burgers and fries and not that one incident!
