I saw this again several nights ago: I suppose you could describe it as a rock 'n roll Citizen Kane where a documentary film crew tries to piece together the life of talented musician Eddie Wilson in order to find out why such a promising talent ended his life by driving his car off of a pier.
The soundtrack is great and that final shot....... wow. :teddyr:
gotta be better than "Streets of Fire"
THIS tv has been showing that lately and I like the film. And yes....cool soundtrack.
there's a sequal isn't there? The search for Eddie's remains or something

Yeah, something like that. I never watched the sequel. Some movies are best left standing alone.

It's called Eddie and the Crusiers 2: Eddie Lives.
The record company starts an "Eddie Lives" publicity stunt and releases some previously rejected works but the thing is Eddie actually is alive. He just slinked away after the crash, and now he's starting up a new band under a fake name.

The search for Eddie's remains
Movie Title of the Year, right there.
We got it: This is Eddies collar bone, I know it - roll credits
There was a period of time during my childhood that this movie was on EVERY DAY on HBO. I think every kid in my neighborhood knew every word to "On the Dark Side".
