I agree.
Well, that makes three of us in agreement.
Besides, who can possibly equal Jacqueline Pierce as Servalan?

Or Sally Knyvette's mini-skirts?
I'm probably gonna get on everyone's bad side, but while I enjoyed the original Blake's 7, I think this is one series that can work in a remake. If they give it a hard edge and not try to rework Firefly (which is what I'm sure will happen), it could be a very nice, down-and-dirty version of the original.
Nothing will ever be the same as the original, but, taken on it's own, a new version, done right, could be a very entertaining series.
Then again, I don't have cable or watch TV, so what the hell do I know?
I agree that a remake could work. I'm just sceptical that this one will.
Blake's 7 was already pretty gritty, and portrayed a lot of themes with nasty undertones, like brutal mind control, sexual slavery, entire populations brainwashed into zombie-like stupor. Sure, a reboot might be cool, but as with all shows with particularly strong characters, who could possibly be the new Avon? Or the new Servalan, as mentioned before? That reminds me, I still haven't finished rewatching my DVD's...
An aside: in Paul Darrow's biography, he talks about being out one day, and meeting a mother with two little boys, both wearing silver jackets and black pants. They look at him seriously and say, 'We know who you are, but we will never tell the Federation where you are'. Classic!
And if I recall correctly, Paul Darrow bought the rights to Blake's 7, so unless SyFy have bought it from him, or are licensing it from him, he will likely be involved. I do hope that Paul Darrow makes at least a short appearance!
I'm a bit shocked. How is it that this series has never had a US format DVD release? That's horrible. All this talk has me wanting to sit down and watch the series again...after I finish all of Supernatural.
