Quote"I will apologize for Armageddon, because we had to do the whole movie in 16 weeks. It was a massive undertaking. That was not fair to the movie. I would redo the entire third act if I could. But the studio literally took the movie away from us. It was terrible. My visual effects supervisor had a nervous breakdown, so I had to be in charge of that. I called James Cameron and asked 'What do you do when you're doing all the effects yourself?'

Apologize? APOLOGIZE?!? He should sacrifice his first born!!!! Then Maybe-MAYBE-I'll think hes not a shmuck! :hot:
That's not an apology; it's a bunch of excuses....blaming of others.
Whiny brat.

Yeah, I noticed that too.
I thought that was one of his better movies. Why not apologize for one of the more horrible ones?
Maybe he should have apologized for Pearl Harbor instead. For me, the only Michael Bay film I've watched is Transformers which for me, isn't all that bad. Based on what people have said though, I've mostly steered clear of his work. The Rock and Bad Boys do look quite solid though.
Geez...putz!
Four months and 140 million dollars - how the hell's anybody supposed to make a movie with that?
I've saw worse films, lol. Armagedon wasn't all that bad. Sure there are some parts of the film that wasn't that great but what movie doesn't have it's moments? I thought the effects were really good, the dialouge preety decent and the acting good, cheese in places but hey it's only a 100 million dollar movie, lol.
Pear Harbour? Uhhhh now that one I have never finished.
What actor, director.producer hasn't made a film at some point that hasn't flopped ?

Because Hollywood producers say "DOEETNOWMONIES!!!!"
I saw Armageddon on rental back before I even knew who Bay was so all I had to go on was the movie itself. Based on that, it was all space stuff, which I love, so I couldn't have cared less.
Though this shines some light on that line from Transformers, "This is a million times cooler than Armageddon!"

Are you related to this dicksmack or sumptin?
At the risk of being brained by many shoes, I liked Armageddon, especially the last twenty minutes or so.
Two other points:
1) The music was done by my homeboy Trevor Rabin  and
2) Judith Hoag was in it. *SIGH*
Yes, I liked it.
I had really liked "Bad Boys" and "The Rock" so "Armageddon" looked like another winner to me based on its trailer.
By the time it was over I hated Aerosmith with a passion and I was convinced that Michael Bay was the Antichrist.
Know he's apologizing for Armageddon, now what about Pearl Harbor?
I have a question. Has Michael Bay actually made a film worth watching? Maybe The Rock and to a lesser extent, Bad Boys.
OK thats one down, about 16 more to go.
-Ed
Whilst Armageddon isn't a good movie, it certainly wasn't horrible [Aerosmith sections nothwithstanding]. It really tells you how flawed he is when, compared to alot of his other movies, THAT is the one he apologizes for. I think Armageddon was the last gasp of not horrible Bay into 'Mabasploom' territory [The Rock and Bad Boys were actually pretty fun and his catalogue has gone steadily downhill from there.]

Transformers is ok. The first third of it is outstanding. Then it turns into a massive disappointment once the giant robots show up.
I liked Bad Boys is my younger days.
I think he should rather apologize for his upcoming reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films: I know that a South African is directing it (Jonathan Liebesman) but I will run very, very far away from this one. :buggedout:

Agreed.
So... He's gonna let the Transformers off the hook of kak then.
Armageddon was fine except that whole bit with he animal crackers. A little piece of me shrivels inside and dies every time I sit though it. Its right up there with Gwendoline in the awkward film moment that Id rather not watch stakes.

I can apologize for everything I ever did wrong in my life. Dont make it right. Micheal Bey will continue to abuse us with his s**t.He can suck my dick.
Wait! Im so sorry! I shouldnt have said that. But outside influnces-called My Stomach-influnced me. I dont want Micheal Bey to suck my dick-because it would make me sick and I would puke on his head. He'd have to wash chunks of fried chicken out of his hair.
someone really doesn't like michael bay. Guess who?

I'd applaud your comment if I could, but I can't so here's a picture of Lugosi from Dracula.

You got to admit the first transformers movie he did, was pretty good. Or do you think he has never done a good movie and the studios that keep wanting him to direct are morons.

RC, I demand an apology for May 17, 1989!
Forget the ending, I want an apology for that "animal crackers" scene.

No, we really don't.
What's odd is that he is apologizing for this film, which the Criteria Collection deemed important enough to redistribute.

The studios don't care whether he makes good movies, they care whether he makes money. Making money is at least as related to the marketing campaign as to the quality of the movie. Bay makes high-concept movies that are easy to sell.
I've actually never seen a Michael Bay-directed movie. I'm happy keeping it that way.
He apologized for Armageddon.... but as for me, apology not accepted! :D
Nope not related.

The Black Plague redistributed too.
There are people dumb enuff to follow Hitler-their are dumb people who think this movie is good.
I want Mr. Bay to jump in front of a speeding crosstown bus for "The Island". While I could put my brain in a pickle jar and watch the movie as just an excuse to vomit non-stop and pointless action on the screen, I could not and will not forgive the BLATANT rip off of "Parts-The Clonus Horror" or "The Clonus Horror" or just plain "Clonus".
From Imdb.com:
"Director Robert S. Fiveson brought a copyright infringement suit against the makers of The Island. The lawsuit cited almost 100 points of similarity between "Clonus" and "The Island", and the court ruled that Fiveson made a prima facie case for infringement. Before the case could go to trial, Dreamworks settled with the plaintiffs for an undisclosed amount."
Doesn't change the fact that they thought they could rip off an older, "little" movie without acknowledging it. Weasels!!
And RC, you use Yiddish like a pro. My hat is off to you, sir!
