Title: Parents
Post by: Sean Reynolds on May 02, 2002, 08:12:31 PM
Anyone see this little gem? It takes place in good 'ol 1950 Americana. It stars Randy Quaid as a father that also LOVES to eat people.

The whole plot is about the son, a scary kid I'll add, whos coming on to the fact that his parents are killing people and eating them for dinner.

I enjoyed this flick, a lot, anyone else seen it?

One very underrated movie! Randy Quaid is great in this movie. It's amazing how well this movie is pulled off. This movie does something alot of movies try to do but don't succeed at, it is both funny and creepy.

Hate it.  Hate it unreservedly.  In fact, I hate nothing else in this world, so I place the full brunt of what hate I do have on the movie PARENTS.

Ah, the promise of the poster I saw in the movie store as a kid.  Finally seeing it on video and bringing it home to watch.  Sitting for a god-only-knows how long (is it really only 81 minutes?), watching unrelentingly boring, ugly, festering crap stick to the screen.  Hell, if the director had a popped a zit, and then let the wound infect and blister over the course of two weeks, all the while filming it with time-lapse photography, I would have enjoyed it more.  At least that would have been of scientific interest.

I often describe this movie as being as much fun as walking in on your parents.  Oh wait, that scene's in the movie too.

I really don't like this movie.  And that's why I have a copy of it sitting on my shelf.  I like to keep my friends close and my enemies closer.  In this case my enemy is a videotape copy of PARENTS.  I've even tried to watch it again, but apparently my masochistic streak does have an upper limit.

But hey, whatever floats your boat.  (Damn PARENTS-lovin' freaks.)

Great flick!  This was made around the time a lot of demented movies were coming out.  If you liked the bizarre brand of humour/horror also see The Vagrant, The Dark Backwards and Vampire's Kiss.
