Anyone else looking forward to this sequel? I certainly am. I loved the first movie. It was over the top but done well in my opinion. This one looks to deliver a lot more of the same fun.
Release date is October 11. I had no idea that Danny Trejo was 69!

Lady Gag Reflex is in the new Machete movie? You won't get any of my money Mr. Rodruiguez, sorry.
I'm looking forward to it.
If Lady Gag doesn't ruin it - Lets hope it's just a small cameo.
I agree that the first one was awesome. My favorite part while watching just the trailer for it was when Machete guts the guy, grabs his intestines, runs down the hall, jumps through a window and swings on the guy's intestines to smash through the window of the floor below, if I remember correctly. I giggled like a little school girl and my lovely lady, who was sitting next to me, squealed and covered her face as she cried, "Oh my god!!" Seriously, I thought I'd wet my pants I was laughing so hard.
Aw, hell, now I wanna watch the first one again.
The only thing that would make the sequel more insane would be to shoot it in 3D and/or work Jason Statham's character from Crank 1 & 2 into the movie. But Mel Gibson in a cape is almost as good.
Wasn't the first one bad enough? :hatred:

She might even sing the theme song :tongueout:
I was afraid this would happen sooner or later, Lady Blah Blah acting in movies. I hate her so much I won't EVER watch her in anything.
I am there. It will be a birthday present for me.
first one kicked ass but this trailer looks worryingly like they've turned this one into a self indulgent back-slapping session. okay it's never gona be 'high art', but I hope they haven't done that.
I will definitely see this.
I'll be in line opening morning!
The first movie had mixed reactions for me. I loved the original trailer from Grindhouse, and although I found it to be a bloody, over-the-top thrill ride, I was disappointed in the fact that alot of things in the original trailer were changed or didn't make the final cut.
Hmm...I must be the only one in here that likes Lady Gaga. I don't know why either, because she would be the epitome of bad movies; you would think folks in here would be loving that broad considering where we hang out! I think she would be a perfect fit for this bad movie in particular, though I heard that her part in it is really small. Like, Minnie Driver in the South Park movie small (Minnie Driver was Brooke "I farted on the set of Blue Lagoon" Shields in Bigger, Longer, & Uncut) :teddyr:

That...is just NUTS! I can see the appeal.

There's a scene in this one that tops that one, while obviously paying homage to it a bit. I don't want to spoil it for ya, but I caught a screening of this at Fantastic Fest and it was a real blast!
Every time the "Machete Kills" trailer comes on TV I chuckle like a 12 year old kid. I can't wait to see it.

Maybe it's just me, but Lady Gaga is pretty damned talented.
Relies too heavily on costumes and fanfare. I grew up a punker, but her music IS good and unlike her contemporaries, she doesn't have a huge production team of writers. It's her at a piano writing. And, she CAN sing.
Acting, however, I don't know. She just gets a lot of unwarranted hate from people for no reason other than overexposure which is out of her control at times.

I always thought that she was using fame as the concept of her first album. I never really considered looking into her music much, but the general theme that I always got from it is that "fame" itself is a "monster". Hence, the names of her first album and subsequent EP. Then again, I could be giving her more credit as an artist than she deserves.
For those that are worried about this movie being brought down by the GaGa, rest assured - other than the opening fake trailer, she probably has less than five minutes of actual screen time. That opening trailer, however, seems to suggest that she will be back for the third entry...
Watched the movie today at an early matinee. I thought the movie was just as fun and silly as the last one. Amber Heard and Demian Bichir are a great addition to the series. The movie certainly does not lack in the gore or eye candy categories (Alexa Vega and Sofia Vergara!). Lots of over the top - you've-got-to-be-kidding-me action that does not take itself too seriously. The movie starts with a preview of part 3 of the trilogy that had me with deep belly laughs (Machete...in space...). Gaga in the movie didn't bother me one bit. Even if I did hate her like many do, she wouldn't keep me away from the series. Just my 2 Lincolns.
I saw this at a matinee yesterday. Only four of us in the audience. We all busted a gut laughing. This one seemed more over the top than the original, and it was certainly sillier and even more fun. Lady Gaga's part is small, and while she acts about as well as Madonna (hey, she's a Madonna ripoff, so why not be as bad an actress as well? :tongueout: ), she doesn't ruin the movie in any way. There are several scenes that employ very creative killing methods, every one of which had me laughing like a hyena. I will be adding this one to my collection once it's released on dvd and the price comes down to something reasonable.
As a nice bonus, Danny Trejo seems to move much better in this movie than he did in the original. He seems to be in good shape, especially for a man his age. I assume he's got a trainer now working with him.
