I made a pot roast with onions, taters and carrots 2 weeks ago- when we had the BIG blizzard-it's getting real big now,in fact-I'm cooking ham and taters right now! I'm gonna make homemade biscuits and gravy tommorow morn! warm up yer belly grub, bub!
I just had pot roast tonight. It was good. It snowed here in NJ Tuesday into Wednesday and it was a bee-atch.
Chicken and dumplings. It just makes your whole world feel like a happier place!
Hubby came home with a nice big pork roast last night. So that's for today with a big dish of scalloped potatoes. If we don't lose our hydro, I might be baking. Double-sized banana-chocolate chip muffins and boterkoek and maybe an apple pie or apple crisp if I really get rolling.
Imma gonna make pork chops and pierogis with apple sauce, dammit! And wax beans too!
When it's cold and nasty outside I love homemade potato soup or a nice pot of beans with ham and corn bread.
Whatever I can find lol - coffee, toast and snacks...
Lol snowed in. :tongueout:
Ehh, I would say some Ramen to keep me full.

Bacon and Eggs
trying to diet......
I use my slow cooker almost every weekend in winter so, any kind of food that fits in my crockpot is fine by me. Saturday morning I had some overnight creamy (not slimy) crockpot oatmeal made with brown sugar, milk, apples, raisin, butter, vanilla, honey, cinnamon, walnuts. Besides that you get a bonus of heavenly flavors of the ingredients filling almost every room. So delish.
Saturday evening I prepared my famous 15 hours crockpot homemade from scratch tomato/pasta sauce for Sunday. Again, the slow cooking process brings out the flavors to overwhelming effect.
My slower neighbors, served with bread and milk... :teddyr:
Thankfully that's not much of an issue here, but when I did live in snow-prone area it was definitely crock pot full of beef stew or chicken and dumplings and lots of coffee and hot chocolate.
I was always lucky enough to have 'non-essential' jobs so could lay out on snow days as needed.
Unfortunately now even if we have a cat 5 hurricane plowing toward us - especially if we have a cat 5 hurrcane plowing toward us - I will be required to be at work. I signed several important-looking papers promising I would be.
Vanilla-maple snow cream!
I forgot: Least favorite: Lemon SnoCones
