We are getting slammed with a dandy snow storm here in Topeka. I'm guessing we're at 3-4 inches with another 4+ coming.
Where I work, I always have to go in during any kind of weather. So, I went to work this morning. No cars except 3 of them where there are normally 15. I'm thinking, "Great. I'm gonna be trying to take up the slack of everyone avoiding the storm." After spending 15 minutes sharing complaints with the very few other employees who made it in, a guy comes down and very sheepishly says, "The place is closed today. I just read it in an email sent out last night."
Here's the topper: They released the announcement of our office closing to a channel that no one watches for weather-related closings.
I was shocked. :buggedout: This is the place where, on Christmas Eve of 2013, we got an email from management telling us that they were authorized to allow everyone to leave a few hours early thanks to Washington folks giving us a nice break; however, everyone else but the phone reps were going to be allowed to go home. We had to sit there and take MAYBE one call every 20 minutes (no one was calling us at that point). :hatred:
I'm gonna do a movie marathon today and hope they have us closed tomorrow as well. I'm well stocked on burritos in case I can't leave the apartment. But I will accept donations! :bouncegiggle: :teddyr: :bouncegiggle:
