Glad I don't drink hardly ever. There was a brief time I would go out and drink every Saturday night. It gets EXPENSIVE. I can't really do it anymore outside of an occasional beer in the hot tub. My inner workings are delicate and I've seen small traces of blood in my ralf when I got whammed.
E-yeah. You don't have ulcers do you? Be careful of those.
I drink Juuuust enough Beer,/Wine/liquor when I'm gonna be somewhere a long while. Otherwise I do it at home, when day is done. Helps me find the Zzzzz...
Nearly two months ago my buddy was telling me about some cinnabon vodka he bought. He had a flash of it with him so on lunch we went to the parking lot so I could try it. I had one shot... I mainly drink a glass of wine once a month. Needless to say that one shot hit me hard. Thankfully I don't have much supervision or interaction with people at work so I was able to make it through the next hour without anyone noticing.
I got a break at work once, went to the bar across the street, got hammered and came back for a meeting with my manager.
It was a fun time.
It always puzzled me in movies when business people would order drinks at lunch, usually martinis. Or the boss has a full bar. They do realize that drunkenness will ensue, right?
Granted, I have a government job, and drinking on the job is highly frowned upon. Can't imagine doing any work while slightly p**sed.
Now, I love a good drink way more than most people, but I only do it when I'm done with all my serious work. Nothing happens when you get drunk other than more drunkenness. It's fun, yes, but you're not going to accomplish anything more for the rest of the day.

We have sort of a liberal office. As long as you don't come stumbling back to work like a complete buffoon, it's okay to have a couple of drinks at lunch. I was mainly a scotch drinker until a few years ago when I had martinis at lunch with my bosses. Now, I'm about 50 / 50 between scotch and martinis. I got so drunk at one of our work drinking events that they had to send me home in a limousine. My wife was not particularly amused when I got home, stripped off my clothes, crawled into bed, and started snoring at about 7:30 at night.
My work is pretty easy on drinking, Fridays at 3 we pop a couple 32 oz microbrews for tasting, and the R&D lounges have microbrew kegs.
