I saw this spoof film over the weekend and I enjoyed it - it is a Godfather / Goodfellas spoof with quite a few laugh out loud moments and also with quite a few what the hell was that moments. It was the final film for veteran actor Lloyd Bridges and he is great as the immigrant mobster who swims to Ellis Island after falling off the dock and missing the boat. :teddyr: His son marries a lady who later becomes the US President. :teddyr:
I thought of Brother Ronny when Christina Applegate meets Joe Viterelli at a wedding and this happens:
JV [sees the lovely lady in front of him] "Bella!"
CA: "Lugosi." :teddyr:

I saw this when it first came out, and thought it pretty funny. My favorite scene involved the line: "Run, florist!!"
I saw it during its theatrical run. I don't remember much about it other than that it had a few very funny parts and a whole lot of "okay" parts. I probably didn't need to spend the money to see it on the big screen, though.
I recall when it came out...I was 14 or so. It's generally up my alley, as I'm big into spoofs/parodies (Airplane, Naked Gun, and the like), but I never got to see this in theaters. It's on HBO ever so frequently and I laugh all the time. I like it.

I really liked this movie when in my younger days. I still have it but haven't seen it in ages.
It was great to see LLoyd hit a comic stride. One of the finest loons ever. :twirl:
I haven't seen that in forever, but I do remember enjoying it.
I'll have to check it out again sometime.
One of my favourite scenes is where Olympia Dukakis is trying to pull a
ring off Lloyd Bridges' finger. Every time she pulls his finger, he
farts loudly and apologizes, saying "Scusi, mama, scusi mama........." :teddyr: :teddyr:
Lloyd Bridges is vastly underappreciated.
