I love Italy.
I had that experience in the late 1980s in Pretoria central where I lived for a while as a student: Dad gave me money to go buy cold drinks for us all and the shop nearby was closed. There was a vending machine so I used that and out popped a beer, instead of a Coke or Pepsi. I bought six beers with the change I had. :drink: :teddyr: Dad's reaction was "Where the [expletive deleted] did you get beer on a Sunday?" :teddyr:
I should just explain that prior to 1994, all cinemas, bars, liquor stores and most shops were closed on Sundays.
My reaction when I read the title: "Yeah...probably Japan".
But Italy? They should have something like this in Germany...pop in some money and out you get a nice cold german beer. Would be heaven on a sunday.

Yeah. Read the beer name and thought- Japan? 'Nasstro Azzurro'...wonder what that means.
AH! BLUE RIBBON...not so special in translation. Oh well.

A Redneck's wet dream.....especially if the next machine sells beef jerky.
I bought beer out of a vending machine in Europe. Would not repeat.
Nastro azzuro was better than the regular Peroni, but in general the Italians should stick to wine and leave beer brewing to the Northern Europeans.

The Nastro azzuro from the vending machine wasn't too bad. Kind of like Bud or Old Style. Perfect on a hot afternoon if you're not picky about your beers.
There was a large Auchan store next door to the hotel so I went over there to pick up some supplies my first night in Rome. Including a Danish beer called Red Erik - that was better.

I did that with Fanta Orange in Italy: to say it looked and tasted like pee is putting it mildly. :drink: :buggedout: :drink: :buggedout: :drink: :buggedout: :drink:
I am kinda pickey about my beers. Yingling and Killians are my go-to choices. Fosters is nice. Moretti is good Italian.
Hmmm... I'll be in Italy in about a month, will have to keep an eye out and do some out-in-the-field testing.

Enjoy Italy: just watch out for the Fanta Orange. :tongueout: Not nice tasting at all. :buggedout:
You can buy beer at burger king in Spain for some reason

The only flavour fanta we have here is Orange, so don't worry, I'm used to it...
