Just got in from seeing Spider-Man. Loved it.
One question. I must have blinked and missed Stan Lee's cameo. Where did he appear?
The answer might have been mentioned in the earlier Spider-Man thread. Unfortunately, I avoided reading any of it before seeing the movie, and now I just don't feel like going through 32 postings in one go.
Apparently he was a bystander during one of the Goblin's attacks (the one with the balloon, I believe.)
Take what I've said with a grain of salt. That's what I'veHEARD not what I've SEEN
Yeah, he shows up at the festival where Green Goblin faces Spider-Man the first time. The camera is right on him but if you blink or look away you really will miss it.
I'll have to watch for that when I go to see it again on Thursday.
(I always do that with movies like this - go to some early Sunday matinee or late weeknight showing alone to see it right away, without the crowds, then see it one or two more times with other people later on.)
Anyway, I had expected a better cameo for Lee. I figured he'd be a janitor at the Bugle or something. At the very least, I thought he'd have a line, and a few seconds of camera time in which people could say "hey, that's Stan Lee," then briefly explain to their dates who Stan Lee is.
Maybe it's better the way it was done. Gives people another spot to pause their DVDs later on. Also gives me something to watch for the second time around.
I thought he was edited out. On a news site on Scifi.com, Stan Lee was quoted as saying he was alright with the idea of being edited out. Maybe they changed their minds.
he sucks major balls
During the Times Square ballon attack. For two quick seconds we see Lee reaching down to scoop up a threaten child. I was sorry he didn't get a major cameo, but then again it might spoil the magic world of the movie, making the self referential could have ruined it.
Cool that he didn't mind getting edited out.
Stan's the man when it comes to cameos. He was buying a hot dog on the beach in X-Men, he was a juror in the awful TV movie The Trial Of The Incredible Hulk and he can be spotted somewhere in The Punisher.
Hey Dick Face are you talking about your self FAG!
Ya got ta be quick to see him.
Another Spidey cameo- Sam puts the Oldsmobile that Ash drove in ED in almost every film he does and in this Uncle Ben drives the old warhorse.
I wonder why Sam puts his car in almost every movie he does? Anybody know for sure?
Straight from Bruce Campbell's autobiography (a superb read, but you can't touch my autographed copy!!!!) - Apparently this car was Sam's first ride, and Bruce suspects it was the site where he became a man, so he has a fondness for it.
LOL!!! Now that you mention it I remember that part! Awesome read!
