Title: Outer Limits? Man awakened to destroy a comet, which really wasn't a comet?

Trying to find episode that I thought was outer limits but can't find it.
Guy is awakened by group of humans in future to destroy a comet.
Later to find out it was spaceship of humans coming back to earth?

Are you sure it was a TV episode? Do you recall if it was B&W or Color? When did you see it?
