Title: 50s B-movie shared universe series to come
Post by: Rev. Powell on January 24, 2015, 03:10:31 PM
"Independent film distributor Cinedigm is reportedly developing a shared movie universe based on American International Pictures' legendary library of B-movies, presumably after discovering a cache of dusty film prints in its garage. The rebooted 10-movie series was written by Snakes On A Plane's Jeff Katz and will be shot back-to-back 'with a big recurring cast of antiheroes, monsters and bad girls,' just like God and Roger Corman intended."

I don't have t5he highest hopes for this project (deliberately bad/campy movies almost always suck), but I'll keep an open mind.

Isn't that the truth.

Still, I'm intrigued.  I'd love to see a shared universe with some of the more outrageous creatures of that time period. Heck, get some other studios to pitch in.  The fact that the never was an official meeting  of Glen Manning and Nancy Archer is one of the greatest missed opportunities of film history.

And there be the reason the idea grabs my attention. If Godzilla and the ants from THEM are included, along with the Beast from 20.000 you know whats...yeah, I'd hope it worked out...but who could we get to...wait, the title PACIFIC RIM is springin' to mind!...
