What is wrong with this woman??? Doesn't she understand that your child is more important than you are? That you're supposed to love your child no matter what? To make any sacrifice for this person you brought into the world? It's been a long time since a news story made me so mad. Maybe the baby's better off without her, maybe there is more to the story than we are being told, but still, if this is true as presented, that woman is disgusting.

Nobody is completely in their 'right mind' immediately post-partum and for varying amounts of time after.
And the whole "love at first sight" thing is a myth for many people.
At least she was honest about her commitment. Or possibly her limitations. "His wife said she thought the baby would be better cared for elsewhere." Some people simply are not equipped for that level of challenge. Most people are not up to being good at parenting at all, imo, and merely get by. That baby very likely IS better off without her.
