Telly Savalas and Elke Sommers star in this Italian horror film called HOUSE OF EXORCISM (1974), which is much like THE EXORCIST. The film is ok and it had its moments, but I was rather bored with it.
I'll give it ** stars out of five.
Two versions of this movie exist: Mario Bava's unedited version "Lisa And The Devil"(which has the original,more darker ending),and the American version,which has added scenes of Robert Alda as a priest who takes on the demonic evil that's inside the possessed Elke(who vomits out green toads[!!!]),and a more happier ending.
Whichever version you watch,both films are still strongly effective occult thrillers that further establish Bava as a top-notch Italian horror maestro,who richly deserves to be ranked up on the high EuroHorror Maestros platform that both Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci proudly stand upon.
The Italian version is supposed to be MUCH better than the chopped up American version.
