On the heels of the great thread "movies where they watch another movie on tv" comes this thread, about movies where people watch another movie (or short, or cartoon) on the big screen. If you can, tell us what movie/short/toon was playing. Or if you don't know, maybe ask us here.
One example:
GARBAGE PAIL KIDS: THE MOVIE
The titular kids annoy patrons of a theater during a showing of the Three Stooges short MALICE IN THE PALACE.
There's also TERROR IN THE AISLES, which is chock full of patrons watching various movies in theaters.
Yer up folks! Go!
Well in Gremlins they are watching Snow White.
Cinema patrons are watching a Bruce Lee film (possibly Game Of Death) while killer rats attack in the movie DEADLY EYES. Director Robert Clouse did both movies.
Dumbo in 1941
Woodstock in The Omega Man...
The films Demons and Anguish come to mind.
^ Yes, both were not real movies.. I don't remember much about the one in DEMONS but the one in ANGUISH was called "The Mommy". It's been quite a while since I've seen either of those films. I kind of like cinema scenes in movies. Seeing the concession stand makes me hungry. Remember those old juice machines?

I watched "Dead Heat" the other night and the character 'Dan Bigelow' (Joe Piscopo) was appropriately watching the original version "DOA" just before he gets offed.
Wasn't there a scene like this in He Knows You're Alone?
Yeah, it's at the beginning. A gal gets stabbed THROUGH HER SEAT?!
Can't tell what movie it is or if it's a real movie (probably not).

In the original THE BLOB the audience is watching the truly oddball movie DEMENTED aka DAUGHTER OF DARKNESS when THE BLOB squishes out from the projection room. Despite what the marquee says, Bela Lugosi's not in it - but Ed McMahon's voice is.

The fake film "MANT!" in MATINEE.
They watch EVIL DEAD in DONNIE DARKO.
I can't count the number of times in cheap horror movies people will be watching either NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD or CARNIVAL OF SOULS on TV. (Obviously, because both are public domain).
In "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," Roger and Eddie Valiant are hiding out in a theater, and Roger is cracking up and commenting on the Goofy cartoon being shown on screen. ("What a genius!")
If I remember correctly I think The Thing From Another World is being watched at one point in Halloween.
In Donne Darko the title character and his girlfriend see a movie in a theater. I can't remember the same of it.
One of AIP's beach movies has a clip from Invasion of the Saucer Men on a TV.
And I believe The Amazing Colossal Man & Attack of the Puppet People had clips of each other on movie screens.
Dennis Christopher's character watches a bunch of old classic (mostly scary) films in a theater and dresses like the films' main characters in real life, killing people who antagonize him in FADE TO BLACK.
