From what I have read, Laverne Cox will play Dr. Frank-N-Furter and Kenny Ortega will direct. I haven't seen Orange is the new black, but Cox seems differnet enough to not try to cover Tim Curry. I am more worried about the director...
I find it hard to imagine anyone making a better version of Rocky Horror. Will be interesting to see how they do.
Does Laverne Cox have big teeth? Dr. Frank-N-Furter's gotta be all about that big obsequiously creepy grin.
Why.

Why.
Because Fox thinks they can make money.
Laverne Cox, while I am not familiar with her work, she does seem to be an interesting casting choice to take over the role made famous by Tim Curry, as she does seem to have the time to do it, for its scheduled release in 2016, and as she, at this moment, has nothing scheduled past this year or 2015.
Kenny Ortega is a more questionable choice. Not only because of the subject matter, but . . .?! because of his schedule. He has the sequel to "Descendants" "Descendants 2" penciled in for 2017. The he wants to re-make "Dirty Dancing," which seems to be a more appropriate subject for him, and he has "A Change of Heart" in post-production.
Ugh-why does this s**t need to be redone?
I dunno-Im biased-I hated the first one-and no-Im not homophobic-I just hate this stupid f**king movie...Meatloaf-UGH! And I hate Broadway style music.
I like this!

I'm betting the tone will be quite a bit different. Ortega did Hocus Pocus, and I bet it will tonally be like that but PG-13ish. This will p**s of a lot of the fans of the original, but will probably rake in dollars from tweens and teens, and those who are older and remember the original release out of nostalgia but haven't seen it in 20+ years.
