OH... HECK... YES! I've been waiting for this for VERY along time!
Jeff Goblum yes please.
Most of the old cast back (no Will Smith apparently)...holy s**t that looks fun.
Quote(no Will Smith apparently)
Supposedly he wanted $30 million and script approval before he'd sign on so they said "Mmmm, nah, we won't be doing that."
Besides, it's been 20 years. His character's step son (who was a little kid in the original) is now old enough to take over the hero role. :D
Is this going to be another bloated commercial for Apple/Mac products?
The only takeaway I got from the original was that Mac computers are smart enough to interface with alien computers, yet simple enough that they only require a single-button mouse. Maybe they can work in images of Steve Jobs somewhere.
Okay, okay, I know I tend to p**s on a lot of sacred cows. In its favor, I can say that I'm glad it isn't being directed by Zach Snyder.

I don't know if this counts, but SPOILER FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY 2 SORT OF
His character has been revealed as having died in an experimental aircraft crash inbetween the films on the Independence Day timeline site. Just an FYI.
