Tonight's blog post . . . all my books are about Rome, on some level. But why?? Read and find out!

All roads lead to Rome!
Roma...Città eterna, Roma...la capitale , Roma...Caput Mundi
Been to Rome three times. Hope to go back someday.
(And also the location of a couple certain statues that just hate it when some guy from Iowa comes along with that g*****n camera of his).

Italy is at the top of my bucket list.
Rome, Naples, Pompeii, and of course, the Isle of Capri.
One day . . .

Yes the Isle of Capri is really nice, as is the Amalfi Coast - which is not too far from Naples. If I won the powerball I'd seriously consider retiring to Positano, which is a small town on the coast.
Today's blog post: Why the fascination with archeology?

Tonight's blogpost deals with a controversial topic!
Sex and Violence in Christian Fiction - How Far is Too Far?

My blog is running a bit late this week, but here is the newest post - an exciting excerpt from my newest novel (newest one available in print, anyway!), MATTHEW'S AUTOGRAPH. Read on, and if you haven't gotten your copy yet, click the link and start reading the whole story!!!

I do like the setup. The story seemed to hing closer to a thriller or an action thriller (Something like the Tom Hanks movie)... I don't understand why you have the book listed as a Religious & Inspirational/ Historical...
Amazon does that. My Capri Team stories are generally Christian fiction, but they are also fast-paced thrillers!

I thought you have the option to change it... Christian Fiction is a very narrow audience and anybody looking for fast-paced thrillers are not going to be looking for a book listed as Religious & Inspirational... I don't think there is anything wrong in listing this story as a thriller, even though it's a Christian Fiction. On the other hand, those that are into reading Angels & Demons might want to look for books that are similar in story/theme and I have doubts they are going to find it under Religious & Inspirational.
Though if I was looking for book religious advice to boost my self-esteem, I wouldn't be looking for it under a thriller.
I think you should look into this.
Oh do you have a Wattpad account?
That is good advice, and I will look into it!
No, I don't have Wattpad.

Thanks. You should get a wattpad account (you can post your first chapter or you can post blogs or other books/short stories/nature pictures, etc...). I'm on wattpad as Richard Staschy :)
Amazon doesn't select the category, the publisher does. They put it in the category they think will sell best. I say you should trust them. Inspirational is probably a smaller and more focused niche where you can stand out more easily. If you're in Thrillers you have to compete with NYT bestsellers.

I've published a few short stories myself and I seemed to believe I had done it myself too.

'They' I'm assuming that Indy has a real publisher and he's not doing it himself... If that is true, I do question the thinking process of Indy's publisher; because the intent of the publisher is to make it easy to market and sell the book.

Yes Inspirational is a more focused group... but (and this is why I question the publisher) Inspirational don't even hint thriller. Its like going to the show to watch The Godfather and it turns out to be Dumb and Dumber.
You just cannot assume people are going to find the book based on content of the book. They need to know if the book is a thriller, a horror or even a comedy.
If the book was listed in thriller a reader *scrolling* the thriller genre will find the book. Having said that I could scroll the thriller genre a million times and I will not find Indy's book, and I'm not into Inspirational (therefore I'm not wasting my time and scrolling the genre).
As for competing against NYT bestseller... I don't think this should even matter. I also believe Amazon positions the books based on Amazon sales.
This week's blog post is an excerpt from my just finished novel, THE GNOSTIC LIBRARY!
Check it out!
