Sorry, I know nothing about the genre. :tongueout: I hear some guy out there has a pretty comprehensive list of them, though...
I'll add Mulholland Drive, The Game and Eyes Wide Shut to the list
Ah, what the hell. Here's my channel's playlist. Should be several hours worth of clips and trailers on there.

Aah, I have quite a few of these.
1. Eraserhead (David Lynch)
2. El Topo (Alejandro Jodorowski)
3. The Holy Mountain (Alejandro Jodorowski, and even weirder than the other one)
4. Mirrormask (Dave McKean - Weird, almost nightmarish, but without lack of certain beauty. I mean... yeah, weird.)
5. Zazie dans le métro (French movie from Louis Malle. Hilariously weird, but masterly directed.)
6. The Zero Theorem (Terry Gillian, and almost all his movies, by the way.)
7. Existenz (David Cronenberg. Got mixed reviews, but I enjoyed it.)
8. Naked Lunch (David Cronenberg again. A masterpiece of the weirdness. Only the bug makes me sick.)
9. Scanner (David Cronenberg, yes, sorry, once again. Not that weird compared to the other two. However, the exploding head remains THE cult scene from his entire work.)
10. La Cabina (Antonio Mercero. Short Spanish jewel shot during the early seventies, which passed through the censors of Franco's dictatorship God knows how.)
11. Cloud Atlas (Tom Tykwer, Lana and Andy Wachowski. When weird also means great beauty.)
12. Blue Velvet (David Lynch. Brutal and disturbing weird, but good story and masterly directed nonetheless.)
13. El ángel exterminador (Luis Buñuel. Very disturbing movie. But not as weird as the one that follows.)
14. Un chien andalou (Luis Buñuel. God, now, that's weird. Cult scene: the eye and the razor blade. Ough!!)
15. Delicatessen (Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Weird for sure, but unprecedentedly good. I believe it is reviewed in BadMovies.org. I must disagree with the web-master. That's definitely not a bad movie.)
And I still have more which I cannot think about at the moment. I'll try to refresh my list once in a while.
A recent weird movie is the independent film Upstream Color (2013). Almost singlehandedly written, produced, directed, shot by and starring Shane Carruth, it is a remarkable and bizarre movie that screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival. I've watched it many times and still get a thrill out of it.

I stopped posting links to my site's reviews here since I seldom got any clicks, but since a few of you are interested in weird movies, you can check out our latest review (main text not by me):

Not a deep cut, but if you haven't seen it yet and you like weird movies you should track it down.

Rev, that movie looked like all kinds of weird. I couldn't bring myself to watch what looked like a cross between Castaway, Weekend at Bernie's and Brokeback Mountain. Interesting review, though.
THE LOVED ONE (1965) certainly should be on that list

Ghosts Of Edendale(2004)
Strange film about a home hosting ghosts from Tom Mix's ranch that still show up for some debauched fun even at the current owner's expense..

Definately agree with Eraserhead. Lynch's movies are always on the twisted side.
I don't really consider Eyes Wide Shut 'weird" but it is eccentric and it's one of my top 10.
I think Gummo belongs on the list.
Two weird movies I've seen in the last few years that have stuck with me (there's more but these come to mind)
The Distance:

Our featured weird movie for Thanksgiving at 366 Weird Movies is one you all should know: BLOOD FREAK.

This Wednesday's pick is one that is mentioned on this thread.
I'd like to see THE DISTANCE, but it's rare, and I have a huge stack of recommendations to plow through anyway.
It is difficult to beat Jodorowsky when it comes to weird. One recent movie that left me baffled is The Lobster.

For sheer over the top weirdness, it hard to beat the Japanese. I own a film called HELLDRIVER that is quite possibly the MOST bizarre film I have ever seen; certainly in the top 3.

GOTHIC.
I'm in the middle of watching 12 Monkeys and I've reached the conclusion that it needs to be mentioned in this thread

The weirdest South African movie ever: Jans Rautenbach's frightening, eerie, scary, disturbing and funny Jannie Totsiens [Johnny Farewell].
Holy Motors (2012) should be on anyones weird list. Completely incomprehensible and strangely fascinating.
toss up between VALERIE AND HER WEEK OF WONDERS (1970) and SICK NURSES (2007)
on a side note HUDSON HAWK (1990) is possibly the weirdest film I've ever seen starring an A-List actor
I'll put Donnie Darko, Being John Malkovich, Dark City and The Big Lebowski on the list
A VERY strange film that I gave to Indy a while back, DEADRISE (2011)

Omg, so much cool stuff to track down!
You want weird? I got weird. The Bed Sitting Room (1969). A very surreal comedy written by Spike Milligan about a future in which a short nuclear war causes all manner of bizarre things to happen. In a Kafkaeque plotline, someone mutates into a bed sitting room.

The writer uses poor English, and I personally wouldn't qualify all of those as 2016 releases. Some of them only played film festivals and very few people had a chance to see them (including me). That said, they're not bad choices.
I recommend THE LURE and SWISS ARMY MAN unconditionally. (THE LURE was even picked up by the Criterion Collection for a 2017 release). I recommend THE GREASY STRANGLER only if you love grossouts and want to see Tim & Eric mixed with John Waters.
Here's our list for comparison: http://366weirdmovies.com/10-weirdest-movies-of-2016/. (http://366weirdmovies.com/10-weirdest-movies-of-2016/.) We classify movies as belonging to the year they're first widely screened, either in theaters or home video. That guy must have considered THE LOBSTER as a 2105 release, I don't see how he could have passed over it otherwise.

Don't Look Now (1973)
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdanCNK4ayo
I just finished a film called Sam Was Here (think it was renamed from Nemesis). I feel like the whole thing was designed to cause speculation, seen a lot of strange movies over the years but this is gonna be special in my memory I think
I rewatched this yesterday. It's got Mr.Jayne Mansfield!

HIP,HOP AND 21 (1964)

Not a big feature length cartoon fan,but I would watch the Hippo one-after smoke good weed.
This ... thing. One of the most bizarre 'documentary' films I've ever seen. And the acting is atrocious!
Here's the whole convoluted mess...OVERLORDS OF THE UFO (1976)

I got another one that I've had for years but just now got around to: Adaptation
La Jetee
The Triangle (2016)
Firstly if you're looking for a big payoff there isn't one and also it's in the found footage section of the horror movie asylum (yes the dead left toe of that 98yo woman). Setup wise it kind of reminded me of Apocalyptic (which is just about bearable flick, probably because David Macrae kills it imo): outsider journalist crew gains access to odd remote cult/movement. Don't expect many answers if any with this just a s**tload of questions with spooky implications. Deserves a spot on the freaky weird horror list though.
Brand Upon the Brain! -- this is incredibly weird and unlike anything I've ever seen
You can't mention weird movies without mentioning ZARDOZ. Still one of the strangest movies of all time.
Yes, ZARDOZ!
Also The Keep.
I am really not familiar with weird genre, how would you classified it?

There's not really a "weird" genre. One person's weird may seem run of the mill to others.
Indy finds ZARDOZ weird. I find it to be goofy sci-fi, but not weird.
For me any film thats really bizarre or indecipherable or avant garde.
Example-Werner Herzog's EVEN DWARFS STARTED SMALL (1971)
In this scene a midget almost brusts a blood vessel laughing hysterically at a camel .
http://youtu.be/8oedaCvm3yg (http://youtu.be/8oedaCvm3yg)
I'm adding Criminal (2016) to this
Ryan Reynolds got killed pretty early in the movie and his brain was implanted into Kevin Costner. It's weird but good.
I watched GOZU (2003) last week. THAT was WEIRD.
Watch out for yakuzi dogs!
