This site has been up and down a good bit over the last week. At one point I was not able to get on for almost 72 hours straight. When that happened, I began to think what my life would be like if Bad Movies Dot Org went away for good. I have been on this site since July 2007, nearly ten years now. This has become my home on the world wide web. Unlike my social media profiles, which I share with my students and co-workers, this place is much more private; there are just a few people that I've invited to join (ER was one of them). This is the one place on the web where I can let my hair down and let my juvenile side come out. This is a place where no one judges; where an eclectic group of personalities from all over the world can come together, untied by their love of truly horrific cinema, and form a family. I don't want this site to go away - ever! But if it does, I want to thank everyone here for being my friends, to thank Andrew for creating such a clever and fun site, and both the Rev and Newt for doing their best to keep it up and running.
I hope the server issues, or whatever it is, are fixed and the site is up for good. But if we are indeed living in the last days of this quirky, magnificent forum, I just wanted to post this to let everyone know what a great place this has been for me, and thank you for making it so!
And whatever happens, "B-Movie Kraken" is a title I will proudly carry for the rest of my life!

For the last three days, I haven't been able to access the site. To be honest, I expected the same thing this morning and was happily surprised when the site came up. I think I was going through withdrawals. This one of the very few sites I allow myself to visit these days. I would have a major hole in my life and heart if this place went away.
I've come and gone, but this place has always been here. I hope that continues.

I was worried that this place was gone. I dont post anywhere else, I am not on any social media or have a desire to be. Besides ebay, This is pretty much the only place on the internet that I visit on a regular. I think that I have been coming here for about ten years or so. Even if I dont post anything, Ill check the forums to see whats going on. lurking in the shadows. I have visited other "bad-movie" sites (usually just once) but there was nothing that made me go back. The thing that has kept me here is the sense of community. If/when this site goes down permanetly, I will be very sad and lost, I will miss all of you. weve never hung out or even seen each other, but there is a bond here, it could be called friendship. We have had so many spirited conversations over the years and I hope we have many more! IM not a very sentimental person but theres a heavy feeling upon me as Im typing this, I hope this is not goodbye. Just in case it is; I like all of you, I wish you all the very best in life! Thanks for the memories!
Loved this place since I came across it a few years ago and wish I'd found and joined it way sooner than I did. Would hate to see it disappear.
This place has been a part of my life for 10 years. I hope it lasts a bit longer.

I never heard back from Andrew about whether he would be willing to sell the site rather than retire it. I take that as a sign he intends to keep things as they are for the foreseeable future. He probably still earns a little bit of passive income from this site; I doubt he'd keep it up if costs exceeded ad revenue.
I could always start my own forum at my site if worst came to worst. You would all be welcome to relocate.
This site still gets front-page placement on Yahoo & Google for the keywords "bad" &"movie;" I imagine it still makes some money.

Edit2: Forgive me for putting a money-focused post on a site-appreciation thread. I was just wondering how much this would be worth to one of those annoying companies which buy old domain names, park them, & cover them with ads. I've seen too many good sites end up like that; I don't want that to happen here. :bluesad:
This place has been my home since I went looking for info on a film called Billy Jack and found Andrew's review: the special peeps here carried me through the trauma of my Dad's passing in 2008, so I love them one and all.
What ever happens it has to be said that this place rocks.
I mean where else can you go and express your love for a s**tty movie and not get bulldozed by haters in the process?
