I'm having an operation in a little over a week.
It should help with the set of tires I'm carrying on my frame.
Good luck!
good luck
The best to you.
Thoughts go with you. It'll be behind you in no time, and all will be well.
Also be thinking up cool stories for how you got your new scar. I always say you can't go wrong with claims of injuries sustained while saving orphans from a burning schoolhouse. Maybe say you cut yourself on shattered window glass while leaping out with the last orphan in your arms...?

Or keeping the cats from stealing the good beer. It's supposed to be laparoscopic so it'll be five small scars instead. Of course your idea might still work, that the glass shattered and cut me in five different areas.
wishing you good health! might I suggest that for a scar story: you were stealing beer and cats from cazy ol' farmer john. Both you and the cat caught some buck-shot as he chased you though a burning corn field with a shot gun.
Sending good vibes from across the pond, Brother Sprite

Maybe it'll look like you tangled with a very
large cat over a case of beer. Best of luck!
May success be the outcome!
Beware! Your cats may not recognize you once you've lost some weight, and I've heard they are VERY protective of the beer. :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle:
T minus three days now.
Getting to the climbing of the walls phase now.
Had my pre-admission call from the hospital today.
Sometimes when I am facing something that could be unpleasant, I think past it, imagining myself in the time when it will all be over, and often that helps. It'll be over soon.
Sorry, new to thread here... are you getting a bypass or stomach stapling or what?
Most surgery is nothing to worry about. The drugs will take care of all the pain and discomfort. You can watch bad movies while you recover.
Actually, I wouldn't mind some minor surgery right now.

You have the surgery, and I'll go with the drugs. Used to love being in the hospital getting Demerol shots about 10 minutes before the local Kung-Fu Theater came on. LOOOOOOOVED those movies while on Demerol.
Sorry, I seemed have drooled a bit.
Thinking about you, Sprite!
I still have NO idea what's going on, but I wish you the best, Sprite!
Surgery went well. Been trying to rest up these past few days in order to be ready to go back to work.
I have five little incisions on my belly and 3/4 of my stomach is gone now.
I have a big ass bruise on my right arm - they had issues with the IV they put in, especially after they drew some Dracula fuel for labs.

I plan on telling people it's from protecting my beer from the cats.
That's great news! Sorry about your arm, but it looks kind of cool. Sweet roll-top desk in the back there :).
Welcome back, Sprite! May your courage be rewarded with much success.
Welcome back, brother: here's a cold South African beer for you. :drink:

Since I work from home I decided to go back after one week.
So I went back to work this morning.
Other than being tired it's not too bad.
Of course there's several forest fires raging at work that people didn't do anything about back when they were little burning embers and now i have to try to put them out with a 1/4 full fire extinguisher.
Glad your surgery went well.
Sad you've come home to work that's piled up. Why is it time off only results in work piling up?

Apparently no one takes OOO auto replies seriously. These OOO replies tell them who they need to contact. Their minds translate the statement that I will be unavailable via phone or email into I will make an exception and immediately come running to their aid at any time while I am OOO. I've found I have to be pretty strict though with my boundaries because there are people who will push the envelope if they can. If I say I will be unavailable via phone or email then I'm unavailable, and I don't care if the person has a personal message from God complete with stone tablets.

Are you being literal, 'cause that's totally happening in some places (like California, I think.)

I'm fair confident Sprite is saying that problems are mounting at work. I don't see him fighting forest fires from home, unless he has a big hose.
Yeah, I'll just stop there and show myself out.
Software support.
And no I was not being literal. Some balls got dropped last week so I was kind of upset about that because I didn't just drop off the face of the Earth at the last minute. I had been telling people since over a month beforehand that I was having surgery.
Tomorrow it will have been three months since surgery, and minus 70 pounds just since then. I'm minus 100 off my all time heaviest weight.
Well done. I am glad for you.
Minus 81 pounds now and counting.
Now it's my dad's turn to go see friendly Mr. Surgeon on the 11th to get a hip implant put in. 70 years of using his hip wore it out.

All the best to your Dad
The paternal unit's surgery went well and he was able to go home today. He's resting comfortably.
