I am so tempted to see this but it seems like torture.
Has anyone seen it? And is it as bad as the critics claim?
Only saw a little bit of it, but from what I did see it really did look awful enough that I don't want to watch it.
I have not heard one good thing about it so far...this must be a major wreck of a movie.
Which means at some point I will watch it just to see how bad it really is
I'm not taking the bullet for the group. I did that for Bucky Larson, which still gives me nightmares.
I don't know anyone who's actually seen it.
However IMDb lists it in one of the top 100 worst movies ever made.
Well, I saw someone buy a ticket for it when I was going to a different showing. Looked like a grandmother with her granddaughter. I felt sorry for them. :bluesad:

It's getting lots of negative publicity, so yeah; that makes sense. If it'll stay there for a long time is the question.
If you do go see it, you should let us know what you think of it.
People ragged on MOVIE 43 and blasted the people who starred in it. Why isn't there the same intense level of backlash against this film and the people who voiced the characters?
Better yet, since we have become a society that seems to thrive on shaming people for every and any perceived slight to anyone's delicate feelings, why not shame the people connected with this movie? Hell, shame them to the point that they can't be employed anymore. Yeah, that would be good.
Screw it. In 20 years, if we haven't died from war, disease, or rampant arrogance and/or stupidity, THE EMOJI MOVIE will probably be the favorite movie of bad movie fans.
Ah, just ignore me because today...

Kitty needs a tummy rub!!! :bouncegiggle:
Where the hell is the critic consensus on Rotten Tomatoes?
It's got 8%, was a huge release, and everyone has pretty much said the same thing about it.
Let me write it for them:
The Emoji Movie is a soulless cash grab that wanted to be "Wreck It Ralph" but came out closer to "Food Fight!".
Just the concept of this movie makes me wanna puke.
Anybody connected with this should be hung and slow murdered.
By the Crimson Exicutioner! I know I didnt spell that right! Then you spell it,motherf**ker!

Wow. After what's been said, I'm almost afraid to admit this....
I SAW THE EMOJI MOVIE!!!
My eyes bled, my face melted off and my bones turned to dust!!
Ok it wasn't really that bad. Don't get me wrong - it was awful, mindless, greedy capitalizing on the stupid and adolescent trash, but I didn't cry or bleed or anything. Do I redeem some of my "cool" points if I tell you all I went to see it at a DRIVE-IN? And threatened to murder 2 of the 3 children we took to go see this at least 3 times that evening?
The poop emoji didn't even have that much screen time.

Poor Patrick Stewart. All those years of mutter "Merde!" on Star Trek: TNG only to play as a bit of digital
merde.
Best described as 'Meh'. Nothing great but not the devil either.
The thing I'd take most exception with is 'men are always interrupting women' and internet trolls need to 'get a girlfriend' (suggesting they're all male) comments. Pushing feminist myths via a kids movie is distasteful at best.

you're brave
Oh, wow. I'm kinda retarded.
The "🚫" is the critic consensus. Because it's an emoji.
s**t.

He seemed to enjoy it from when he briefly talked about it. It was probably like a day of work with a 6 figure paycheck, and no pressure at all (there's no way he could save or sink this one). Can't blame him really. The real baffling one is TJ Miller, dropping out of Silicon Valley apparently to do it.
Yeah-the EMOJI MOVIE-ugh-it tried to cash in on America's obsession with the Internet. Like ROLLER BOOGIE or CB trucker movies in the 70's. Or any other exploitation film. Aint new.Same old s**t. Just bigger budgets.
This too will pass-I hope.

Can't get enough of The Emoji Movie? Well, now you can view the video's* production art online!

Even if the video* itself is bad, some of the art is creative.
*I highly doubt they used actual film when making this.
