I love B, low-budget sci-fi movies from the 70s era ... things you might see on late night TV or a drive-in, like Alien Factor, Alpha Incident etc. Just looking for suggestions for downloading. .... Action films are good too (like moonshine running etc.), but I'm primarily looking for sci fi, UFO-type movies etc.
What are your suggestions? Thanks for any recommendations!
the MAD DOCTOR OF BLOOD ISLAND (1968) is a good start!

You might look into Sunn Classic Pictures. They made a lot of pseudo-documentaries, some about UFOs.
OVERLORDS OF THE UFO (1976) is one of the most mind-numbing piece of film ever made.
here's the whole sorry mess-

Never seen Overlords of the UFO. I have seen UFO: Target Earth, and it's pretty bad. Great title tho. If the you're is willing to watch (and enjoy!) Bill Rebane's Alpha Incident, Scott, I might say the UFO: Target Earth is also acceptable.
You might also try Billy Rebane's earlier film, They/Invasion from Inner Earth. Another good title, but the execution is kinda silly. I don't know if you're into silly.
If you are into silly movies, I'd suggest Darkstar. It's a low-budget contemporary parody of early 70's sci-fi. It's also John Carpenter's 1st feature-length film, if memory serves.
Idaho Transfer, is actually well made, and in a great location. (Part of Idaho which looks like a 50's moonscape.) Dramatic time-traveling film with a weird ending. Slower pace, like the other films listed.
And I have to give a shout out to Planet of (the) Dinosaurs. It's like the other movies listed, but with Harryhausen-qualiy stop-mo dinos.
You might try some of Larry Buchanan's films made for AIP-TV; they're from the 60's but they have a similar feel to others listed.
If you like B movies about running moonshine, check out Moonrunners. It's the movie that the Dukes of Hazzard was based on. Unfortunately, there is no official DVD or Bluray release, but bootleg DVDs (sourced from VHS) are available on Ebay and Amazon (I think).
Check out Don Dohler's films. Ultra-low-budget sci-fi films but done with a love for the genre.
The Alien Factor is a fun one with some wild alien makeup.

Then there was his one and only R-rated-type alien slaughtering humans. I believe there is nudity involved. Most of Dohler's films were spooky, but family friendly. Say hello to Night Beast:

Invasion of the Girl Snatchers. Weird. Just...weird.

Some of my favorites are Laserblast and Shock Waves.
Idaho Transfer is a strange movie. If you read reviews about it, you wonder if the reviewer even watched the movie, or at least paid attention, especially in regard to what happens to the Leslie character. I got this movie one of those Sci-Fi collections that includes my suggestion...
The Day Time Ended. This is a totally bananas movie involving a supernova, alien beasts and, best of all, the famous Vacuum Cleaner of Doom harassing a family in their new solar home.

Thank you .... I love that stuff. Found one on monsters, another on the Bermuda Triangle. Excellent suggestion, just what I'm looking for.

The Psychotronic Man (1979) - no UFOs but it's sci-fi, weird and kind of rare.
Prey (1977) - horror sci-fi from legendary exploitation director Norman J. Warren.
The Dark (1979) - a serial killing alien who rips off the head of its victims.
The Visitor (1979) - aliens, cults, ufos, possession - it doesn't get any better than this.
God Told Me To (1976) - alien terror from Larry Cohen.
Laserblast (1978) - bad movie classic.
Here are a few that come to mind:
