Title: Sometimes I Think Canada Tries Too Hard.
Post by: ER on December 17, 2017, 03:23:23 PM
Sorry, this list in Maclean's made me laugh, not that it's not all true, not that I don't think Canada is a perfectly nice place to visit, not that I haven't basically liked every Canadian I've ever known except one, not that I haven't laughed myself silly watching The Kids in the Hall, not that I don't love the Canadian flag (it's awesome), and not that I don't love Anne of Green Gables, just...

Well, check out this list of reasons for national pride. Canadians brag about leading the world in....fecal transplants, about NOT having Asian carp, and feel good about having more coastline than the US? They say its such a great place for talent, yet proceed to list how much of that Canadian talent emigrated into the US the first chance it got.

Uh, yeah, it's like I used to tell Texans in my Austin days, it counts more if people who aren't natives brag about how great you are.

Fecal transplants, man....

Hey! Lots of people move to Texas. And every election cycle half the U.S. threatens to move to Canada.

There is evidence Texas and Canada are great right there. ;)

Some of these stats aren't really fair, cause you're comparing a place with only 38 million people (ie, less than California) with a place that's has 350 million.
