I've wanted to see this for such a long time!
....Um, when does the dinosaur show up?
Heard, but did not see, the beast.
Poor... Character. (Not spoiling anything.)
Stampeed!
Yeah...the Beast only shows up in about the last 5 minutes of the movie. Whatta rip of.
On the plus side the replacement animation is silky smooth. Armature animation isn't, but it's still cool. Miniatures are good; superimposition/back-projection is not. Good acting & cinematography.
Seems like it might've been a better movie without the beast; he played such a minor role in the plot. Of course, without him I would've had little reason to see it. That's this film's problem; it's a well made but dull western marketed to a monster movie crowd. Too little monster for monster film buffs; too much monster for western fans.
I thought that movie was really unrealistic. I mean, that allosaur ate several Mexicans and didn't fart once? Come on! That movie should have ended with the allosaur sinking into the swamp, then letting one rip that rocketed it out of the bog.
gargoyles starts in 23 minutes on comet!
