Hey guys, I know it's been a while, but I just wanted to address a small issue I've been having with embedded YouTube videos from "http" links. For some reason, whenever anyone posts an embedded video, the video just appears as blank for me. To be more specific, I see the link to the video (it's not an "https" link), a large blank space and the "Small | Large" buttons on the bottom and in some cases the "! No longer available" text on older posts. If you guys want, I can post a screenshot if a description isn't enough. Not sure what's causing this or if it's just me, but any help would be appreciated.
Check your browser, addons and drivers are up to date.

Hm.... I checked all of that and the only thing that needed an update was the driver, but the issue is still there after I updated it.
What browser are you using?

I've been using Google Chrome since forever and never had any problems with it until now.
gene, if i click on the link itself, it opens a new tab and that will play the video most all the time. try it, maybe? see if that works for you? i also use chrome and have a brand new laptop, so everything is fully up to date.
This forum still uses Flash videos, & Google Chrome stopped supporting them awhile back. (If memory serves.)
From 2016, when Google decided to phase Flash out: https://www.theverge.com/2016/12/9/13903878/google-chrome-block-flash-html5 (https://www.theverge.com/2016/12/9/13903878/google-chrome-block-flash-html5)
Ah, yes, I completely forgot about Chrome dropping Flash.... I suppose I'll take zombie's suggestion and just click the link instead of trying to be lazy (or switch browsers). Thank you all for the help, it is greatly appreciated!
just so you know, i can't see them on edge or firefox either, gene, and you're welcome!
I'm not sure what this forum's stance on reviving dead threads is (necroposting), but just a quick update, I managed to accidentally fix the issue without switching browsers (still on Chrome). When I posted a Dailymotion video on the site, I clicked somewhere in the middle of it instead of on the actual link and a pop-up appeared asking me if I wanted to allow Flash on this site, and all the YouTube videos appear fine now (DM videos still don't but I think that's just the site).
Afterwards, I discovered that to the left of the current link address on the URL bar (right next to the address and it says your connection is "Secure", "Not Secure", or whatever) is a button that opens up a simple pull-tab where you can enable/disable Flash on the site. So, it was just enough case of my being a dope as per usual. But, at least the problem's solved now. Hopefully this is helpful for anyone else having the same problem. And once again, I really appreciate the help from you guys, thanks a bunch!
thanks gene, i'll try that. i've been having trouble getting in here lately, but i think the issue is the latest windows 10 update, since i'm having problems elsewhere as well. once i get past a vicious summer cold, i'll get it fixed.
